Wolf Bark

Chapter 7

Brandon looked confused about what he should do.

"Brandon let him take me, your the alpha of your pack and you need to defend it from him," quickly spoke Annabel. Then Richard smiled at Brandon then pushed Annabel's hair behind her ear again. Annabel was freaking out, inside she was screaming wishing that this would all go away. Then Richard looked back at Brandon.

"So what's it going to be? Your pack or Annabel?" Richard asked as his voice got deeper and deeper. Brandon was so confused and then knew what he was going to do. Richard kept on smiling at him while there packs were still fighting. Brandon stepped forward and went on his hands and knees. Annabel saw him and then started freaking out even more.

"No Brandon! Your the leader of your pack, they need you to defend then. Get up and fight!" yelled Annabel. Richard looked surprised with Brandon's decision. "You can't just give up that easily, your stonger than that!" Annabel kept yelling.

"I like your decision, but that wasn't my offer," finished Richard. Brandon quickly got up from the ground to see what Richard was going to do next. Richard pulled out a silver knife from his shoe and then started cutting Annabel on her right arm. Annabel started screaming and then she howled like a wolf. Only the howl sounded like she was dying.

"Annabel!" yelled Brandon. Brandon rammed into Richard and he then let go of Annabel. Brandon then started punching Richard in the face for what he did to Annabel. After he knew Richard had enough he stopped and ran to Annabel. She was loosing more blood than she was before.

"Annabel," cried Brandon. Brandon held Annabel softly in his arms while he began to cry. He kept repeating her name until she tried to talk. Rocky then ran over to Brandon and Annabel. Rocky was depressed and and tried to help in any way she could.

"Is she going to be ok?" Rocky asked Brandon as she to began to cry. Brandon looked at Rocky and he wasn't really sure. Rocky then tore off a piece of her bottom shirt then wrapped it around Annabel's bleeding arm. Annabel started coughing really hard and kept trying to say something but the only thing that happened was she opened her mouth. Brandon couldn't take his eyes off Annabel.

"I love you," Annabel slowly whispered to Brandon. Brandon then quickly got up with Annabel in his arms and ran out of the forest. Brandon found himself in the middle of a street near Annabel's aunts house.

"Help!" Brandon yelled to the neighborhood. Then out of nowhere an ambulance that was off duty was driving until the person noticed Brandon in the middle of the road and slammed on the breaks. The person stepped  out and looked at Brandon crying while Annabel was sin his arms. The person was Annabel's aunt.

"Please, I need your help, she's dying," begged Brandon. Then Jen opened the backs doors as Brandon jumped inside with Annabel. Jen then ran to the front of the ambulance and headed off to the ambulance. She turned on her walkie talkie.

"I have a code 4, a girl badly, somehow injurged and was found in the forest," quickly said Jen. Jen reached the hospital while Brandon was still holding onto Annabel. Two guys came running out with a gurney. Jen tried to grab place Annabel on the gurney.

"Sir you need to wait out here while she goes inside," Jen told Brandon. Brandon didn't want to let her go but then knew she needed to go in. He trusted this women to help Annabel. Rocky and the rest of the pack then caught up to Brandon.

"What happened?" Brandon asked Rocky. Rocky was still in pain along with everyone else. They all had cuts and scratches.

"They left after you left with Annabel," explained Rocky. Jen came running out to tell Brandon he could wait in the waiting room until she saw all these people with bleeding arms and legs. Jen then called some other doctors out to help these kids. Jen and the doctors then rushed the kids to different rooms to heal there huge cuts. Jen then showed Brandon to the waiting room.

"How did this all happen?" Jen asked Brandon. Jen looked confused and knew Brandon would help her. Brandon first put his hands in front of his mouth then took then out of his face.

"She fell down a very deep hill and when everyone tried to go down and get her they all fell to," Brandon told the nurse. Jen looked as if she didn't believed him. Brandon then felt uncomfortable around her.

"How do you know Annabel?" wondered Jen. Brandon then wondered how the nurse would have known her name when she's only seen her once.

"We all went to school and now were dating and those other people are my friends. Annabel knows them all," Brandon said as he started smiling. He was bringing back the greatest memories he had with Annabel. Seeing her smile under the shining stars, her laughter, and being with her all the time.

"It's real funny, Annabel never mention anything about you," Jen told Brandon. Brandon didn't understand and sat strait up on the chair. Jen didn't look surprised that Brandon was shock about this.

"How do you know Annabel?" Brandon asked the nurse. The nurse started laughing then suddenly stopped and gave him a stern face.

"I'm her aunt, and I would like to know why she keeps disappearing or being taken away. This is my only niece and when she gets better I'm taking her back to my house. Annabel deserves a life where she can be normal, she's a good girl and she doesn't deserve all this pain in her life," explained Jen. Brandon wanted to say something back but decided to keep his mouth shut. He sat back down as Jen ran into the room Annabel was in.

"How's she doing?" Jen asked the doctor. Annabel was still breathing but was having trouble. The heart monitor started to slow down.

"Hurry, we're loosing her," Jen quickly said. Brandon was able to hear Jen and she sounded scared. Brandon got up slowly and ran to the room.

"Annabel!" Brandon yelled throughout the hall way. Rocky and everyone else from the pack ran to the room. Jen turned around and found Brandon at the door.

"Sir you have to leave," demanded Jen. Then the heart monitor showed the heart dead. Brandon pushed Jen out of the way and ran to Annabel. The doctors then tried to push Brandon out of the room.

"No!" Brandon yelled. He started crying and pushed the doctors to the wall. The heart monitor was failing as Jen started crying. Brandon couldn't believe what was happening. "Could it be, could Richard have finally won?" Brandon asked himself inside his head. He put his head right next to Annabel and started crying.
