The rest of the week leading up to Paris was filled with romantic solitude and tourism. Atlantis, being one for adventure, has enjoyed every second she spent around the city and Aaron. She would find comfort in the small things that the man would do, like holding her hand to keep her close to him, and holding her closely at night.
She has slept on the plane ride to Paris as it's a long flight and sleep was not something she had gotten a lot of the night before. Atlantis had been plagued with nightmares of how the future may turn out, causing her to wake up multiple times in the night. Aaron has been there for her, of course, calming her in her thrashing moments. He worried about her, yes, but when she would say that she's handling it, he wouldn't question her.
While Atlantis slept on the plane, Aaron pulled out his manuscript and began to write of a girl, of Atlantis. He wouldn't tell the young girl, not yet, that he had been documenting their adventures. She is his inspiration, and the book build on romance and heartache that he had been trying to write for so long, is coming together in ways that he never thought would happen. He's living his own story. So Aaron wrote a new chapter next to the sleeping girl, love pouring out through his pen.
Atlantis' first impression of Paris is glorious. She could already feel the adventure radiating from the city of love. The hotel Aaron had booked, the same hotel chair that they had stayed at for the entirety of the trip, is situated in the heart of the city with a view of the Eiffel Tower. The room Aaron had bought for the last week of the trip was the biggest and most beautiful yet. Aaron had been sure to ask for a living room with a on-suite. And the bed, oh the bed. The first thing Atlantis did as she entered the room was run to the bedroom and flop down on the large, plush bed. She is in a fit of giggles when Aaron walks in, carrying his, and Atlantis' suitcases.
"Oh Aaron! It's beautiful!" The young girl stops giggling and lays out flat on the bed, wanting to sink Guthrie into the plush comfort. Aaron places their suitcases in the closet and joins Atlantis, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his face in the crook of her neck. Atlantis giggles a little and strokes Aaron's hair, the feeling of love and comfort filling them both.
"Where do you want to go first?" Aaron mumbles into Atlantis' hair.
"Anywhere. I want to experience Paris." Aaron shuffles a bit and moves to that his face is a mere inches from hers, trapping the young girl beneath him.
"Well then Paris it is." He leans down and places his lips on hers in a short kiss before climbing off of her and rolling off the bed. Atlantis' heart feels like it's going to burst out of her chest, something it does every time Aaron kisses her. She quickly shakes off the feeling, but it's replaced by the feeling of loneliness. She doesn't say it, but it clenches at her chest. Aaron gives the young girl a small smirk and walks into the bathroom. He's three feet away from her, why should she be feeling like this? She shakes off the stupid feeling and begins to shuffle through her luggage. It's not particularly hot in Paris, but a comfortable sun dress with sleeves should suffice. Atlantis chooses a burgundy dress, one of which Aaron had gotten the young girl while in New York.
Seeing as they had only gotten in at ten am and the jet lag had not hit the pair yet, a night out at at a midnight pool and a fancy dinner is in Aaron's plans.
A blush appears on Aaron's cheeks as he steps out of the washroom to see Atlantis wearing the dress he bought her. She's by the mirror, checking the dress out at all angles. With confidence, Aaron strides over to Atlantis, runs his hands down her hips and kisses her neck.
"Your beautiful, my sea city." A giggle escapes the young girls lips and she escapes Aaron's grasp but takes his hand in hers.
"Let's go out for dinner?" Aaron smirks and quickly packs the twos bathing suits before rushing out of the room with the girl he loves.
The dinner was fine, or so that's what Atlantis thinks. It was another fancy restaurant with small proportions that go for way too much money, not that Atlantis minded, she doesn't eat much anyway. The pool was across town, high up in a building that over looks the city. Had Atlantis ever seen such a sight? Never in her life. The Eiffel Tower gleamed from its heart in the centre city and the lights of Paris lit up like dawn. Atlantis was quick to change into her swim suit, not having swam since LA, which in reality wasn't that long ago. She rushed out of the locker room to see a empty, luxurious pool area, and Aaron. He sat sprawled out on the hot tub, obviously enjoying the heat.
"Aaron?" Atlantis questions as she walks over to the man. "Where is everyone?"
Aaron opens his eyes and looks towards the young girl.
"Oh? People? Well, this is a private pool, love. It can be reserved." His famous smirk appears on his face and she crosses her arms.
"Well then, I'm swimming." She steps sideways and falls into the pool with a splash. She surfaces to see Aaron laughing and clutching his stomach.
"Oh come on, it wasn't that funny!" The older man is quick the get up from his seat and join Atlantis in the pool. The rest of the night goes on until the early hours of the morning, the two splashing and playing about as if they are children. Atlantis would doubt that she's ever had so much fun in the water with a man before, and as the two float in the water, staring through the glass ceiling and into the sky, she knows nothing can top this moment. The abrupt sound of a phone ringing catches the attention of both Aaron and Atlantis as they are quick to climb out of the pool and check to see who's phone is ringing. Atlantis doesn't have very many contacts in her phone so it must not be her, surely it must not be her. But when Aaron holds up his phone, the screen blank, Atlantis heart clenches. She pulls the electronic object from its spot in her bag and she nearly drops it when she sees the name that appears on the screen before her. Dad.Unedited!
I don't know if there is a pool like this in Paris, but now there is for the sake of the story.
