Chapter Seventeen

Melissa P.O.V

I was ready! Not for MAGCON but for the lunch with Matthews parents, it was supposed to happen at my house but since it was a nice day out the parents decided to move it outside, his brother and sister were going to be there as well...
I got out the car and the park was beautiful! I could see Matt walking towards us in his black top and maroon sweats, he had really good fashion sense, I loved that about him! When he reached us he shook my dads hand, kissed my mother on the cheek and then kissed me on the cheek, it was sweet how he didn't kiss me in front of my parents, I smiled and mouthed thank you.
"Follow me and I'll take you to my family" Matt said turning around acting like a guide, while we were walking I looked around the park, this location was perfect, there was a waterfall and trees everywhere! It looked so pretty and delicate, this was my first time meeting his parents properly, even though he's met mine a few times, we get to the bench and I was so scared his whole family was just looking at me, my parents knew his so that was their advantage,
"Hey mate", his dad said to mine and shook his hand,
"Hey Chloe" his mum said to mine, I looked over at Matt and he smiled, please like me, please like me I kept whispering to myself, I walked over to his dad and kissed his cheek,
"Hi my names M-"
"Melissa" he said smiling,
"Yeah" I said looking down,
"Matts told us a lot about you", I looked up and he was so sweet,
"Oh no, good or bad things?" I ask trying to be silly,
"Mostly bad", I look up with big eyes then I look at Matt,
"Just joking, heard lots of good things" his dad jokes and shares a light chuckle, I smile and walk over to his mother,
"Hey" I smile and kiss her cheek, she pulls me in for a hug and of course I hug her back,
"So good to finally meet you, I've met your whole family except you", I smiled and replied,
"Yeah I know, I'm sorry I would have come over earlier but I've had cheer practise and s-"
"Oh yes I watched your final game I saw you cheering" She smiles, her face lite up, I guess all the Espinosas have a habit of cutting in!
"Yeah that game will go down in history" I laugh a little recalling the final goal,
"I was a cheerleader when I was younger, stick to it, it comes in handy when you can't reach things off the shelf", we both laugh and smile at each other, I walk over to Matts sister and brother,
"Hey" I say, I wasn't sure to wave or hug them, when I got closer his sister stood up and hugged me,
"Nice to finally meet you Mel" she said smiling, his brother just waved,
"Yeah Matt talks a lot about you", I can feel myself blushing, I look over at Matt and he's talking to my dad! oh gawddd..
"Please tell me it's good stuff" I say, they both smile and I take a seat with them, starting a conversation about hobbies, about twenty minutes later our dads start cooking a barbecue.

"Follow me" Matt says taking my hand, we walk off without telling anyone, he leads me down a path that just seems to keep going... After five minutes of walking and calm silence he stops.
"okay close your eyes", I didn't question I just did, I couldn't see a thing, but I could hear water clashing against rocks I'm guessing he took me to the waterfall,
"Okay open"
I opened my eyes and yes it was the waterfall, but it was beautiful, the trees hung over so only little light was let through, there were flowers everywhere!
"It's beautiful" I managed to say,
"yeah it is pretty cool", he takes my hand and we walked over to the edge of the waterfall,
"Okay so remember how I gave you a promise ring?" I shook my head,
"No I don't remember you giving me a ring?" I ask,
"Well now you have one" he said pulling something out of his sweats,
"W-what?" I ask
"When guys sees this they will know to keep away from you because you have a boyfriend and also I thought it'd look good on you", he smiled and took my hand,
"I like the sound of that", protective looked so good on him. He slid the ring on my finger and I looked at it, it was just white gold band with little beaded like Aqua crystals right round the ring, but I don't know why I loved it, it was perfect, weird how something so plain can make a difference in your life.

We started to walk back but when we got halfway I don't know what came over me but I pulled him to a tree and started kissing him, it was quiet and beautiful, we held our lips together for a few seconds before I pulled away, he smiled but I wasn't finished, I kissed him again moving my arms around his neck, he moved his hands around my waist and pulled me into a hug,
"What was that for?" He whispered lightly in my ear,
"for making me yours, for real" I said and buried my head in his chest, I could hear his heart beat 100 miles per hour, it was speeding, forget those red lights and the police because it was almost making me deaf, a few days ago he confessed his love for me and I did the same, I love him, I love Matthew Lee Espinosa.
