It was an overnight sensation. On Monday, all Aero and I had to pay attention to was each other and math.
Then Tuesday came along, and it's like all English and math classes were forgotten. The only thing we were taught was about The Caverly Effect.
Basically, what happened was a scientist named Javen Caverly found a way to track people's soul's into the afterlife.
He did a test run, on an old woman, who volunteered, to be tracked into the afterlife. So he hooked up a sensor that transmitted all her memories to be displayed upon his computer. After her heart stopped beating, on Caverly's computer screen, it displayed her best memories and the sense of happiness for several months.
And then all the memories were gone.
And the only thing there was an image of a young woman holding her, as a baby.
Also, Caverly had a previous theory. His theory is that your soul mate, is who you end up with each life.
And Caverly was right about his last theory, so he was probably right on this one too.
So Caverly showed this powerful evidence to leaders all around the world, and they all came to one conclusion;
That we are categorized by what life we are on. And here are two new laws because of this:
1.We can only marry people in the same fraternity as us.
2. The higher fraternity you are, the more respect and luxury you get.
Because there is so much chaos, as in we are all mixed with people of different fraternities, everyone except eleven year olds from around the world take the test, and live with people among their own fraternities, on Friday, June 22, 2035. As for the eleven year olds? They wait for Monday, June 25, so people could get a glimpse what it's going to be like in future years.
I wasn't really worried about it. Although, Aero was. He was scared, that maybe he wouldn't end up in the same fraternity as his family.
And I didn't really think of it that way, not until Aero brought it up, but it would be really easy to get separated from my parents.... Considering it's only the three of us.
The more I thought about it...
The more I didn't want to take the test.
I looked down at my puzzle piece necklace, and thought of Aero.
And how bad it would hurt to lose my favorite person.
