We raised our hands immediately.Where did she manage to find a gun?! Those things have been banned since before were born!
"I am Aero, and this is Fawn," Aero announced. She kept the gun trained on us. I could tell now, that her hands were shaking. "We are like you. We ran away, we are in Fraternity Ten,"
She lowered her gun, and sprinted forwards us, grabbed our wrists, and pulled us. I tried not to scream, only hoping we could trust her. She quickly pulled us around a large green can, to the back of it. There was a small hole, and she barely fit through it. She let go, and hurriedly motioned for us to come in. Aero shoved me in first, then jumped in after.
It smelled, to say in the least, dreadful, in there. I immediately plugged my nose. I looked around, and there was a couple old looking blankets on the floor, and a few torn pillows. She took a step outside the hole/door, and pulled something that covered it up. She sat on one of the pillows, and spoke,
"I'm Sage. Sorry for scaring you two, but the guards have been out for me all night." I looked at her, and her eyes were red, and dark bags were under them.
"Once again, my name is Fawn, and you definatally startled us, but is it okay if we stay with you? You seem to know what your doing- and I'm- I'm scared." Yep. Playing the scared helpless little girl card. Her eyes softened.
"Yes, of course," she smiled at us. "We'll figure this out, okay?" Her words, actually almost sounded believable. I smiled.
"Okay, so, what is this place?" Aero asked.
"Its an old town. My dad and I loved to read about the old ways, before today's technology. So one day, we went out and found this place. We camped out here, and tried to keep this place clean. After he died, a few years ago, it's just been me in a foster home. So, I didn't exactly have time to come and clean. This was the first place I ran to." Sage explained.
"Oh..." Aero absentmindedly said. "I kinda meant the smelly green can we are sitting in..." Sage laughed.
"This is where people used to store there garbage." Aero suddenly looked sick. I laughed at him. Sage shushed us, and we were all silent. We heard footsteps.
The guards. They are coming for us. We didn't move. I was even afraid to breathe to loudly.
We waited, for what seemed like hours, until Sage was completely sure that the guards were gone.
And after a while,
We decided to try and get some sleep.
