Say I Missed You Too

I wake up in the same hospital bed as yesterday.
Gerard's note still grasped tightly in my hand.

Oh Gerard.

It's all my fault.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." I look over and see Gerard, his hand tightly holding mine.
"You-You're alive?" He simply shakes his head, and gets up from his seat.
He comes over and hugs me.
His tears splatter against my face, "I miss you."
And then he's gone.
"Who were you talking to?" Frank comes out of the bathroom, eyeing me suspiciously.
"No one, maybe I was sleep talking..." I look down at the note once more.
I miss you.
What does that mean?
"Oh, well, they're letting you go home in a few days, and are going to make me stay with you. They're afraid-"
"I'll try to kill myself, right?" He just stares wide eyed, "And now, since Gerard killed himself, because of me, I might add, they think I'll try to do it again." Frank just stares at me.
"I'm sorry." He sits down, taking my hand in his. "I miss him too, I miss both of them. And for a while, I was afraid I'd lose you too." He wipes the tears, I didn't even know were there, off my face.
"I'm sorry, Frankie." and with that, I pull him into a hug. "I'm so sorry."

Gerard picks me up off the bloody floor, cradling me in his arms and rocking us back and forth.
My eyes are closed, but I can still hear.
"Oh, Y/N please wake up, I- I can't live without you." I feel tears splatter against my face.
I try to hug him, to comfort him, but I can't.
I can't move.
I hear heavy footsteps come closer.
"Step away, sir, we need to get her to the hospital fast."
"It will be okay." I hear Gerard whisper in my ear as he hands me over to unfamiliar hands.
I feel the person run, and hear Gerard not so far behind.
I'm placed on a hard surface and see flashes of lights behind my closed eyelids.
"Please let me on, you need to let me come with her. I need to stay with her."
"Alright, fine." I sense movement and feel a hand wrap around mine.
"I'm here, Y/N, I'm not leaving you." Gerard whispers into my ear, stroking a piece of hair behind my ear. "I'm so sorry, oh god, I'm so sorry."
"Sir please move back, her heart is slowing.
"Please save her." Gerard pleads.
"We will certainly try, Sir." he pauses and I feel a jolt of something run through me. "She lost a lot of blood, the wound was pretty deep and right over a vein, but we will try everything, I promise you that."
"Thank you." Gerard mumbles as whatever I'm in stops.
I hear muffled sounds as I'm wheeled into another area.
I feel pricks go into my skin, probably trying to keep me alive.
I feel something push against my wrist.
I don't feel pain, only pressure as what I can assume is stitches, trying to make sure I don't bleed out.
After a while, everything goes quiet except for the beeps behind me, and the soft breathing of another human beside me.
"Please wake up."

I wake up in a puddle of sweat, and someones hand holding mine.
"Gerard?" His mop of hair shoots up, and he smiles at me. I smile back, but it quickly turns into a frown. "You're not real."
He nods sadly, "I'm sorry."
"You don't need to be sorry, this is all my fault." Tears slide down my face as Gerard reaches out and caresses my cheek.
I'll never feel his touch again.
"It will be okay." His voice sounds distant and then he disappears.
"G-Gerard?"
"Gerard!"
As my eyelids begin to feel heavy, a lyric comes to mind.
I close my eyes, and in the distance hear someone sing...

And without you is how I disappear.

Can you hear me cry out to you?

Words I thought I'd choke on figure out.

I'm really not so with you anymore.

I'm just a ghost,

So I can't hurt you anymore.
