I awoke in more pain than was typical. Yes, I had the usual aches and pains in my joints. However, this morning was different since I had an immense headache. The natural lighting that was coming in through the windows was causing it to get worse. I moaned hoping someone would come to take care of it for me. Since I didn't feel as though I had the strength to mind link with anyone more than a foot or so away from me.

"Lucy," It sounded like Tom's voice as though me waking up this early in the morning was a miracle please I've been waking up at 2 in the morning since I was but a child. I couldn't mind link with him but I could tell him what I wanted. I was banking a lot on the chance of whether or not he would understand me.

"Close. Blinds." The words came out weak, whispered, and as two different sentences. My throat was parched, and I for some unknown reason was struggling to move my arms and legs anywhere. The blinds were closed allowing the room to be covered in complete darkness. I opened one eye at a time, slightly having them move up inch by inch. Since even my eyelids felt heavy.

When they were completely open I couldn't express the amount of joy there was when the first face that I saw was Tom's. I knew that I was going to die, but I didn't think that I was gonna die and join him in the heavens where he was sure to be placed. Unless he of course made a deal with someone high, powerful, and mighty to suffer along side me.

Shaking my head.

"Leave, leave and never return." I pushed him away again and I knew that this would be the last time since he would surely leave. After everything that we had been through me still saying those words must, no has to register to him as though I want to be alone. I want to live out the rest of my days without so much as a word spoken between the two of us. Tom left the room quickly and swiftly not making a sound. Tears roll down my cheeks yet again, since the pain of losing this man got bigger, and bigger each time that it occurred.

Tom came back without so much as a glance behind him. Maybe that's what surprised me. Anyway it didn't matter he held a bottle of water in one hand and a bagel in the other. Handing me the bottle of water I drank all of it before he even considered handing me the bagel.

"Were there any attacks while I was out of commission? How long was I out of commission?" They were questions that I would have asked my beta had he been sitting at my bedside. Yet, I was greeted, and talking to this man who I had asked to leave. The man that I loved with the whole of my being, and maybe even more than myself. The man that by asking him to leave I was trying to protect and shelter.

"There was one attack which was executed by rogues. They were dispatched quickly and smoothly if you would like to read the report I can have Harry bring it to you when he comes to visit. You have been out of commission for a total of 3 weeks. I have some pack business to attend to for both of our packs. If you need anything let me know." The words were spoken calmly, void of any emotion. The exact opposite of what I was looking for since I wanted him to be so angry and upset that he never wanted to see my face again. That he would turn, maybe even run from this room.

Instead Tom slowly got up and walked towards the open doorway. He was about to leave when I had to go ahead and open my big fat mouth.

"I hate you, I never, ever want to see your face again. You are no longer allowed to be on my territory. You are granted half an hour to pack up your things before you will be escorted to the border closest to your territory. I hope that your face never appears through the trees whether it be human or wolf." I say without regret. It is mere seconds before Tom is standing over the bed, touching my face with the palm of his hand. I still couldn't move yet, I wanted to. I wanted to turn into his touch. Since it was amazing and exactly what I had always dreamed of having. I nodded my head subconsciously and then his lips were on mine. I had a new surge of strength as I was able to move my arms up to grip his hair and tug up on it. It wasn't long through the kissing before I felt the puncture at the junction between the beginning of my neck and the shoulder blade of my right shoulder. My canines were instantly out and puncturing the same spot on Tom. Licking up the blood that had remained or slipped through the wound.

Tom was the first to pull back and utter the words that we were both thinking. "Shit. Which part of the mating process did we just do? Did we start this thing for real now?" Neither one of us knew which is what worried me most of all. Since what we just did could have been the death union marks that mates shared. The one that caused them to die if the other did.

What did we do, and how on earth are we going to "fix" it?
