A Choice

"He just left three days ago, I'm assuming he's giving you a choice." Harry says sitting in the only armchair located in the room. The first thing that I had asked him when he got here was where was Tom. I wanted to talk to him, I wanted to bear my soul to him. To accept him fully since there really was no point in denying him.

"What choice?" I ask totally and utterly confused this mating thing worked one way as far as I was concerned.

"You have to decide whether or not you're ready to be his wife, the love of his life, his mate, mother of his child, ruler of the werewolves, a woman of honor. I think he refuses to force you into the decision. However, as a royal if he's rejected or not mated in the next four days he will slowly but surely become sterile. Which to a man is as good as dying since his blood line will no longer continue." Harry states matter-of-factly causing me to feel and believe that I have no choice on the matter.

"Your an ass," I say knowing that it was going to surely be another few hours before I could even leave the hospital.

"I only state the truth, he cares about you. He cares about your feelings and about this pack..." Harry states.

"What do you mean? He cares about the pack?" I interrupt Harry's face fell as though I had somehow caught him in a lie.

"Your mate calls regularly to see how we're doing, to make sure that you're alive. He may have walked away, but he can't walk away, away." Harry says with resignation in his voice as though he knew that he wouldn't have been able to keep his mouth shut. "I think he loves you, not that pitiful 'oh, I love you, let me become your alpha' sorta way. In the way that you need to be loved. Where he is your equal, where he allows you to make your own decisions, where everything is a discussion, where everything is shared equally. You know the pack thinks that you deserve this so I don't understand why you feel as though you don't." Even though it wasn't phrased as a question I knew that it was. Harry wanted to know why I felt as though Tom was better than me, deserved better, and yet again if I shared I risked dying. More than just from the curse though I would surely have the council here to have me on trial. I must have broken a law.

"Does it matter Harry?" I ask already knowing his answer was going to be yes, but wanting to hear him say it.

"Yes, yes, it does. You need to open up to someone; and you haven't exactly made friends left and right." I sigh knowing that there was nothing left to do but to go to Tom. To tell Tom everything like I had planned when I awoke.

"I'm leaving when I'm released from the hospital. Get me the fastest travel plan to Tom's territory. Don't tell him I'm coming." I wanted it to be a surprise. I wanted to know if I could get past his defenses, I wanted to know if his pack members knew about me or if I really was the piece of garbage I felt like when I thought about my past.

Harry nodded his head as though in understanding yet he knew nothing but the half spun truths that everyone else did.
