Chapter 16: Mr.To

"Please take your seat," turo niya sa upuan na nasa harap niya.

I sat, and faced him.

"Sorry, But Sed can't come. So I decided, na ako nalang ang pumunta." I told him.

I saw a smirk formed in his face. "He can't come? Why is that?" He asked.

"Uhm, He's busy." I lied. I freaking lied.

He's definitely missing, Mr.To.

"Really?" Tanong niya pa.

I looked at him. Matangos ang kaniyang ilong, maganda ang pagkapula ng kaniyang labi, ngunit parang may kakaibang itsura na ipinapahiwatig ang kaniyang mga mata.

"Hey," usal niya. Napailing ako.

"Y-Yeah," nauutal kong sagot.

But I stiffened when I heard what he said. I felt my heart beat faster, and,.. I felt nervous.

"Alam kong nawawala siya."

Napatanga ako at nawala lahat ng iniisip ko. I didn't even noticed,. Na napapaluha na ako. W-What's happening to me?

God, Ayuna. Stop being a crybaby.

"H-How? I mean, Paano mo nalaman na nawawala siya? Saan mo siya nakita? Okay ba siya? What is the exact location on where he is now--"

"Woah, Easy, Woman. Easy." He chuckles.

"I just uhm, Nalaman ko sa headline kanina while I'm reading this newspaper." He says at iwinagayway pa ang diyaryo.

Agad kong kinuha agad ito,. And it says,.. 'Hidalgo Companies' Ceo, Missing.'

I felt my tears falling down. Why? Bakit ba ako nagkakaganito. Damn it.

"You should still be thankful, wala pa 'yan sa report ng mga medias and so whatever." Umiirap nitong sabi.

"C-Can you tell me where he is now?" I asked him hoping I will see Sed sooner.

"Sure," he then answers.

Nagpaalam na ako kay Honey na aalis ako kasama si Mr.To. I also told her, na mauna na silang bumiyahe papuntang Maynila.

The whole drive from Ilocos, to Cagayan was frustrating. It was, uhm,.. 10 to 12 hours na biyahe. Imagine that? Halos buong araw na rin 'yon, but thank God at mabait naman si Mr.To, and we stopped everytime na magugutom kami.

"Malayo pa ba?" I asked with excitement. Makikita ko na si Sed, and I'm so Excited na malaman 'to ng mga bata.

"Malapit na," sagot niya habang nakatutok lang ang paningin sa pagmamaneho.

"Can I ask something?" I bothered.

Napatingin siya saakin. "Hey, look at the road, Mister." I told him.

He laughed. And he looked fine. "You called me Mister, Do I look so old?" He asked.

"Not really," I answered, laughing.

"Go on, Ask me." sabi niya pa.

"What's your name? --Kasi, last name mo lang ang nasa list of appointments ni Sed." I asked out of blue. "Hindi ka naman siguro, No-Name-Man." I added.

He laughed again. His laugh is adorable.

"I'm Calic. Paul Calic To." He answered.

"Hmm, a good namel, huh.." sambit ko.

"So, Mr.To, malapit na ba tayo?" I asked, for the almost-hundredth time.

He chuckled. "Call me, Calic.. Ayuna. Calic is fine." He says.

"H-How did you know my name?" I asked him.

"I know everything," sagot niya. "I know everything, Ayuna." He says in a baritone voice.

"Sure you do, Mr.Smarty-Calic." I said.

I didn't expected we'll become this close at a very short time. That's an unexpected one.

"Nandito na tayo," He chirped. Bigla akong sumigla.

Inayos ko ang sarili ko. At tinignan ang labas ng bintana. The place looks peaceful.

"Wait for me there," he says.

Lumabas siya at umikot para pagbuksan ako ng pinto. What a gentleman he is.

Lumabas na ako ng kotse at agad na humalik saakin ang malamig na hampas ng hangin.

Nagsimula nang maglakad si Mr.To--I mean Calic.

Mr.To is too casual, So I prefer to call him that way.

Maluwag ang paligid. At maraming batang naglalaro. Lalo na't hapon na rin, wala ng araw kaya libreng-libre silang makapaglaro.

"Follow me," Calic guided me.

Marami rin kaming nalampasan na mga bahay. At huminto kami sa medyo may kalakihang bahay. I mean, this house is the biggest house in this place.

Not that this is the biggest house of all. Sakto lang ang laki niya. Magarbo. Hindi malawak. At simple ang pagkakadesenyo nito sa modernong paraan.

Calic pressed the gatebell. At agad namang may nagbukas doon. Isang katulong.

Pinapasok kami at maganda ang loob. Mas maganda pa kesa sa natatanaw sa labas.

And then, I felt pressure seeing Sed.

He looks emotionless. Nakatingin siya sa kawalan.

But then a girl came out and,.. a smile appeared on his face seeing the girl.

I just felt my heart stabbed. I felt it wrecked.

Why? Who is her? What are they fucking doing?
