Macy

"Can you believe it's been a whole month?"

My back was pressed against the couch seat so that my head was dangling off the edge and my legs were resting on the back of the couch. I could feel myself getting light headed as I talked on the phone.

"Time sure flies," Evan laughed. "I'll be over in a few minutes. I'm pretty sure Tyler will be the first one there. He was just boarding his flight the last time I checked and that was a few hours ago. Are you excited?"

"Crazy excited. Everything's set up here. Jonathan and I cleared up the other guest bedrooms. We share a room now so there's three extra bedrooms and two beds in each room. There's also the couch-bed thing downstairs. I'll see you in a bit. I have to go check on Jonathan."

I rolled off the couch in a hurry, stumbling profusely on my way upstairs to the bedroom. Jonathan was pacing when I came in.

"This was a mistake. Tell them that I have to cancel."

He looked terrified. His baby blue eyes were wide with angst and his hands fidgeted in front of him. He looked at me solemnly, so I took his hand and led him to the bed and sat down.

"Your friends love you for who you are and they are extremely happy to finally meet you. Everything will turn out fine. I promise."

Jonathan smiled and wrapped his arms around me tightly, his face nuzzling against my neck. I nearly screamed when I felt him kiss me.

"No touchy. Now help me sweep the kitchen floor a bit before everyone arrives. Evan will be here in a few minutes and Luke called a while ago. He's coming in an hour or two. Tyler's apparently almost here."

"Well, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be," he smiled. "I'll go sweep now. Go rest a bit before they all come. I know how much you've put into setting everything up and I appreciate all of it."

The door bell rang and Jonathan physically jumped.

"I lied. Please stay with me. We can just hide up here and wait for them to leave."

I rolled my eyes and pulled him out of the room. "It's probably only Evan. Come on."

And as I suspected, it was. Evan stood at the front door, smiling as he held a tin tray in his hands.

"Figured you guys would want more food with everyone coming over. I helped Luke make all of these earlier. He was still cleaning up the bakery when I left."

"Just place them on the table in the kitchen. Jonathan, go sweep." I told him. He mockingly saluted me and went to go get the broom. "Evan, can you refill Baby's bowls?"

"Right on it, ma'am," he also saluted.

I could hear Jonathan snicker somewhere and Evan joined in. My phone rang then.

"Hey, Macy. Thank God, Evan put your phone number in the group chat. Is Delirious ever going to pick up his phone? My cab is pulling up right now."

"I'll open the door for you."

The call ended and I went to the front door and opened it.

Tyler was grabbing a few things out of the backseat. I quickly went over to help him bring his stuff in.

"Thank you," he paused for a second and stared at me. "Macy, nice to finally meet you."
