"East Rochester emergency, may I help you?"
"Jane it's me Gillian Pherot, I think I heard screams with some loud noises coming from the park near by, the teenagers maybe doing something again."
"Thanks Gillian someone will be over shortly," officer Jane Carter sighs in frustration has she ends the call. A shadow fell over her, causing her to look up, blue eyes looked down at her from behind a shaggy mess of brown curls."Everything okay with you Jane?" Chase, her partner asked. Jane swiveled her chair around facing him, it always amazes her to see him in his uniform shirts, how he managed to fit all those muscles into such a tight and small shirt was a mystery, it was a running inside joke with the rest of the department, there were even a few bets waged as to when his shirt would rip apart.
Sighing again but this time out of exasperation, she made a mental note to work into a conversation later that he needed a new set of uniform shirts, and answered is question. "It seems the kiddos are at it again, that was a call from Gillian said she heard noises and screams lots of it coming from the direction of the park."
Taking a step over he turned and perch his backside on her desktop then folded his arms across his chest, the effect of such a simple move made him look like the hulk about to come alive. "You think they're doing it again after the warning they got last time?" Chase asked. "Why wouldn't they, we never caught the ones responsible even after the parents complained and we spoke to the school about it, the kid still didn't give them up." Jane replied.
"Well are we going or do you want to sit this one out?" asked Chase. "Can both of us even leave here with the rest out on call isn't there only three of us until night-shift gets here?" She asked him. Instead of answering he pointed a thumb over his left shoulder, rolling backwards she moved toward his left to see around him.
Chase spoke "Seems because of the high call volumes this evening, chief called in three more hands, with you he pointed a finger at her then his thumb at himself, and me with chief plus those three, it shouldn't be a problem if we leave there's enough people here in case of any trouble."
Grabbing what they need, they left heading for the patrol car. It was almost dark outside and the wind was picking up, blowing just powerful enough to cause small gust of chilly winds. Chase looked at his watch noting it was only 5:30 pm, yet it looked closer to 7 pm.Walking quickly to get to the car and out of the chill, he opens the door, looking over at Jane he noticed his red haired partner looking up to the sky, looking up himself he saw clouds that looked like a hurricane was coming, except they rarely got those out here and the weather reports said nothing about one either.
"Was there anything about a storm alert Chase?"
"Hell if I know but from the looks of this, we should get this over as soon as possible."
"Ok lets go" she said has they both got in the car and drove off. Jane was lost in thought when Chase touched her on the shoulder startling her. "Penny for your thoughts." Said Chase, shaking her head she answered "a penny is way too small how about a dollar you can pay me every time I get one."
"Damn woman I'll go broke in a day and possibly bankrupt in a week."
"Well from the way that shirt fits, you already are," with mouth hanging open Chase looked at Jane who was now smirking at him. Slamming his mouth shut he had to admit to himself that he'd walked right into that one knowing how quick witted Jane was he couldn't retort without burying himself further.Focusing his attention back on the road something caught his eye in the distance "what's that?" He asked "what's what? Jane said I don't see anything"
"Right there by the corner of the road is that a" Chase words were cut off by Jane "shit Looks like an accident the car's been flipped over!"Jane got out as soon as the cruiser pulled to a stop, rushing over she could see that the car had been hit by something big, half its body was caved in from the passenger side, its rare bumper was smashed so far into the car there was a large ring size hole, that passed through the trunk into the backseat of the car.
