Earth the beginning of the fall

Chapter 25

Both police cruisers hit the highway with break neck speeds, they could all see the flames of the fire in the distance burning East Rochester to the ground.

"This is weird, from the looks of that blaze some of the parks forestry is on fire especially with the heavy winds, why hasn't any of the other towns close by reached out to us as yet?" Calvin said, "mmm, I've been wondering the same thing." Kurt replied "maybe the monsters got them too" Mitch said, "I doubt it, it's the government covering this up, they probably told the other towns that there was a outbreak of some sort of disease to get them to stay away," Jane replied "not this again" Kurt muttered.

  Looking at her he continued "your starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist nut job" she glances over at him with a glare "oh yeah, if I'm such a nut job then where the hell did those things come from, oh wise one?" Calvin pitched in before Kurt could answer "their aliens, think about it, not to put your conspiracy theory down Jane but I'm pretty sure our government doesn't have the technology to create monsters like these and if they don't no one else does, so that leaves use with aliens."

   Everyone got lost in thought mulling over Calvin's words, Mitch broke the silence "you know I think I like Jane's conspiracy better than alien invasion, the first one we can deal with but we're probably screwed on the latter."

"We don't actually know that it's really and invasion." Kurt said, just then a sound like thunder tore across the sky, shaking the SUV, has three Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor speed across the dark sky. Curt and the others all looked out their windows watching the planes, they caught sight of more planes heading in the same direction.

"What's in that direction?" Kelly asked "New York City I think." Calvin replied then looks at his dad, still looking out the window at the planes and said "I guess that confirms the alien invasion theory, either that or terrorism has gotten worse." Kurt looks away from the planes and back at Calvin, then looks again at the planes fading in the distance, "yeah he said, whatever's going on doesn't seems to be good we need a plan."

   "Shit!" Jane said slamming on the brakes as to not rear end Mathew's police car, that was also braking, the force bringing everyone foreword in their seats. They stopped three feet away from the car with its door open and Henry stepping out.

  "Henry get back inside" Sally said but Henry ignored her, walking around the car to get a closer look at what he was seeing, a tractor trailer had turned over blocking all the lanes several cars were piled up around it, looking closer at it, he realized the cars were from the trailer some were still attached to the cables. "Anyway we can get around it?" Sage asked startling him, he turned to the Asian teen "goodness child, haven't you ever heard not to sneak upon and old man" he said "nope but what happens if you do?" She asked "it can cause loss of bowels and in some cases heart attack."

  "Mmm I get the feeling your more the former than the latter, so there isn't any need for worry."

  "Haven't you ever heard of dying from embarrassment?" She chuckled at his question knowing if she answered, it would only prove his point, giving a nod towards the wreckage to get them back on track she asked "what do we do about this?"

   "Let's see if there's away we can squeeze around it you take the rear" he said walking towards the truck, thinking it would be better, since chances of the driver making it were slim, especially with the truck crushed the way it was. The cars made it hard to see the inside but not impossible, he didn't want to take a chance that the kid may see a body so he took the truck.

Mathew and Sally watches has Sage and Henry walked towards the wreckage, a knock on is window had both of them jumping, pushing the button he opens it and greets Kurt with a nod and a "hey."

"Hey, you guys good?" Kurt asked "yeah, but we're the one's who should be asking you that question" Mathew said, nodding his head Kurt looks towards the wreckage blocking the road before speaking "everyone's ok, a little shaken up but other wise pretty good."

   Looking back at the wreckage Mathew voiced his thoughts "did you see all those fighters jets."

  "mhmm I did" Kurt replied "do you think this could be a terrorist attack?" Mathew asked "if it is... then it's not one from our world." Kurt said, looking back at Mathew "what do you mean?" Asked Mathew. Kurt stares at him for a few moments then answers "look at what's being chasing us and tell me what you think they are."

  Sally's gasps had Mathew looking over at her. With wide eyes looking at Kurt she whispers the word "Aliens."
