Zoe's POV
"W-what?"
"Tell us what you know about them." Zach said and I nodded.
Hagrid was startled; his eyes were almost bulging out of its sockets as his mouth hang open.
"Who are you talking about?" He said as he looked at anywhere else, just not at us.
"I remembered that time when we were in gringotts, you told me something about Severus and Isabella, and I want to know who they are."
"I don't know what yer talkin' abou'... Who-"
"Please Hagrid, this is important. Not just for me, but also for him." I said as I gestured Zach and he nodded.
My heart was beating fast. Hagrid needs to tell us what he knows about Professor Snape and Isabella. I don't even need to explain why it's so important.
"I'm not the person to tell yeh anythin'... now go back inside the school, it's getting' late and the both of yeh don't wanna get in detention."
"No." I said, standing up, my voice determined. "you don't understand Hagrid, it would be a great deal of help if you tell me something about them. Please Hagrid."
I would beg on my knees if that would make him tell me what he knows. But before anything, he sighed in defeat and looked at me
"Look, the only thing I know abou' them is tha' they're husband and wife. That's all!"
My heart skipped a beat as Zach's theory held the truth. Professor Snape is Isabella's husband. There was silence as Zach and I stared at each other, both eyes wide from the information we just got. Question number two—why does Professor Snape know her—answered.
"The both of yeh should go. Now." Hagrid said as he escorted the both of us out the door and he immediately shut it.
Zach and I walked our way to the castle before us as we held a silent conversation. I now have a great deal of feeling that I am their daughter and that Zach really is my cousin.
"My theory is not a theory anymore, it's the answer. Now, what we have to figure out is if you are Aunt Isabella's daughter and if so, why did Professor Snape gave you away-"
"Gave what away?"
Zach and I stopped on our tracks as we stared at the person we were just talking about. Professor Snape had his arms crossed as he looked at the both of us questioningly. If I am his daughter, there's one look that can give it away and one word that can make it happen.
"Father." I said and that was one word that made me see the look that I wanted to see.
Question number three—am I really the daughter of my parents—answered.
His eyes were wide as he took a step back and stared at me, his mouth hung open as a shocked expression was evident from his features.
"W-what... what did you say?"
"I said Father."
Zach was silent as he watched the both of us. I stared at Professor Snape intently. His face says it all. So that's why he's so kind towards me, that's why he treated me like one of his own.
Because I am.
A tear slid down my eye as I looked in Professor Snape's pitch black eyes.
"You're my father."
"I must be going." He said and walked past us
"You gave me away when I was a mere infant!" I said aloud and he stopped, dead on his tracks.
"You... you gave me away... why?" I said, barely heard, as it was a whisper, tears falling endlessly from my eyes.
I was angry, more than anything. Angry that he gave his own daughter away; angry that I was raised with people who I am not related to in any way. I felt betrayed.
"Why do that? Why would you do that?!" I said, shouting. Zach was beside me, comforting me. But I wasn't calm. I was angry.
"It was for your own good." Professor Snape said as he turned around, and when he saw me in tears, he approached me and stopped in front of me.
"Can you give us time alone?" Professor Snape said to Zach... he looked at me and then at him, and then nodded.
"I'll be going back to the library." He said and walked away.
I became silent as I looked at my real father.
"I was a death eater... but I only became one because the Dark Lord threatened to kill your mother, and you, which was in her stomach, unaware of the dangers outside. I became one of his trusted servants, and I followed his every rule.
"When you were born, Isabella told me that we should keep you away from the Dark Lord, because you'd be in grave danger because of the powers you possess. But what I did not expect was that your mother died...
"I did not know what to do, but the only thing that is clear in my mind was that I need you to stay away from me, because when the Dark Lord finds out that I have a daughter, then you'll be going through a dark path."
After that he stared at me and I still glared at him. It angered me more, that the day I celebrate my birthday is the day my mother died.
"You abandoned me because you thought that it would be best? I don't think that was wise. You should have kept me, you should've taken care of me. Because I am all that you have left yet you pushed me away? I know that I have powers that Voldemort needs, but even he wasn't aware that you and I are related, he's been trying to reach out to me. "
Professor Snape was silent as he looked down on the floor... I wasn't crying anymore, but I am still angry at him.
"I'm going back to the library. I left my bag there. Bye father." I said, the word father foreign from my tongue as I ran my way to the library.
I looked back to see Professor Snape stare at my retreating figure. I need to calm myself down.
