Zoe's POV

Dueling Club.

That's what Professor Lockhart said, as we all gathered around the long platform before us. The trio and I were staring at Professor Lockhart as he walked on the platform. According to him, it's preparation for us students so that when the time comes--hopefully not-- that we encounter a dark wizard with no absolute escape possible but to fight, we'll be ready.

I got to admit, this new club makes me feel excited! I would love to duel! I've been practising defensive spells with Hermione, and if ever chosen to duel, I have something prepared.

"Does everybody see me?" Professor Lockhart asked as he gave us a charming smile.

As he ensured that everyone was indeed looking at him, he then began to explain the concept and rules of the dueling club. Honestly I didn't listen, I was trying my best to hide from my father who seemed to be looking for me. What is he doing here anyway?

No one knows that Professor Snape is my father, except for Death and Zach. And I plan to keep it that way.

"Now!" I Suddenly flinched in surprise as I heard Professor Lockhart's booming voice and my attention suddenly went to him.

"Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape. He tells me he knows a tiny little bit about dueling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before we begin. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry-- you'll still have your potions master when I'm through with him.. Never fear!"

As he said this, Professor Snape went up the platform and walked with speed in front of Professor Lockhart.

A battle between the two? Looks fun.

Both Professors looked at each other straight in the eye, Professor Lockhart was smirking, it's as if he knows that he'll win this duel. Father on the other hand, was still in his usual features, serious and determined.

They made a gesture with their wands between their faces and bowed to each other. And then they turned their backs and walked on the opposite direction. Once there, both Professors were in their 'dueling stance'

"I hope both of them fall on the floor." Ron whispered to me and I just smacked him on the arm, my gaze never leaving the Professors who were about to duel.

"On the count of three, we will cast our first spells. Neither of us will be aiming to kill, of course."

As Professor Lockhart counted from one to three, Professor Snape suddenly shouted

"Expelliarmus!"
