Zoe's POV
"You, Ron and Ginny go ahead to the Hospital Wing, I have to give these to Dumbledore." Harry said as he showed me the sword, the hat and the diary. I nodded.
"Uhm... what do we do about him?" Ron asked, pointing at Professor Lockhart.
"Yeah, what happened to him? The last time I saw Professor Lockhart, he was engulfed by his fan girls."I said as I stared at the professor weirdly.
We came out of the chamber with the help of Fawkes, Professor Dumbledore's phoenix, and whilst flying mid-air, Professor Lockhart kept on shouting, saying that everything is like magic... has he gone mad?
"I should feel sorry but I'm not."Ron said, a smirk plastered on his face "he was with us when we entered the chamber of secrets, but he tried to trick us by stealing my wand and attempted to obliviate our minds. Turns out, Professor Lockhart took credit for what other witches and wizards had done, and he obliviated their minds as to not remember anything.
"I was lucky, I know my wand was broken, but he didn't, and so he tried to obliviate us, but the spell backfired. And now he doesn't seem to know who he is. I don't think even Madam Pomfrey would like to cure him, he's better off this way."
Harry slightly hit him in the shoulder and chuckled, and I gave off a little smile as well... poor Professor Lockhart, I guess he couldn't survive even if he had the charm.
"I think you should come with me Ron, we both need to explain what happened to Professor Dumbledore."
"I'll take Ginny and Professor Charming to the hospital wing."I said and the both of them nodded.
Going to the hospital wing was easy, I just told our poor professor that we're going to eat cupcakes and drink orange juice so that he would gladly tag along and I wouldn't have to drag him.
"Finally, a soft, clean and comfy bed."I said as I flopped down the bed in the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey attending Ginny and an amazed Professor Lockhart.
I lay down and closed my eyes as I felt my whole body sore, especially my neck. Tom's grip was strong, but I'm lucky that I didn't die.
I felt Madam Pomfrey's soft and delicate hands gently wrapping a bandage on my neck, ensuring that I wouldn't be disturbed, and then whispered that I should only rest and then I would be fine. I smiled at that, Madam Pomfrey reminds me a lot of mum. They were both so caring, their voice seemed to know how to soothe you, and they know what to do when you feel ill. But then, I remembered that she isn't really my mum, and that thought made me open my eyes.
Flashbacks from the past started to appear from my vision, flashbacks of mum taking care of me, nurturing me, loving me, and then the part when I finally found out the truth. My mum and my dad weren't my real parents. I felt betrayed, and sad. Was everything they showed me, a lie? As I thought about this, my eyes began to sting as I felt tears forming. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, trying to compose myself.
"Hello snowflake."
I then opened my eyes to see Death sitting beside me, a comforting smile on his face.
"Snowflake?"
"It suits you..." he simply said and then held my hand.
"Is there something wrong?"
A bitter laugh escaped my lips as I stared at the ceiling of the hospital wing, and then sighed.
"I just remembered how my mum isn't really my mom, and my dad isn't really my dad. Now I'm wondering whether the love they showed me was real... I feel like everything is just a lie."
