(Brian's POV)

I sat, staring off into space, thinking. Why the sudden urge to visit me? Especially with Mckenna. I love that little girl to pieces, but I haven't seen her in years.

You see, Mckenna is my younger sister. Half sister, actually. Anyway, I used to know her very well. She was always genuine, polite, and of course, a really really cool person to hang around with. She had all my interests without even knowing that I shared them with her.

The last time I saw her, she was 10, and she was ranting about how she wanted to dye her long blonde hair purple and cut it into a bob.

Well, my dad was furious about this. He was all frantic about how she was turning out just like me, and that if and when she gets sent to jail for underage alcohol or weed posession, I had to bail her out.

And, after all the craziness of those next few days, my dad banned me from communicating in any way to Mckenna. He didn't want me to influence her.

I don't know why, because, I'm not terrible.

Concluding my story, I was fuming. I basically just stormed around the house childishly, hoping that it would drive my dad so nuts that he would have to just let me talk to Mckenna.

Well, it didn't work. I was so sad. I felt exactly like I do now, missing Jimmy, because such a big part of my life was just torn away like that. Inside, I was so twisted and angry and devastated that I turned to self-harm and alcohol and weed. "Of course this is what you choose to do," my dad had said.

On top of it all, my dad could not stand Michelle. At the time, she had really wild streaks in her hair and dressed provocatively, which I found attractive. But my dad, on the other hand, thought she was encouraging my bad behavior.

So he practically disowned me for about a year.

And a little while ago, when he called me out of the blue, I answered with a tone that contained no anger, tried to sound pleasant, and he did the same.

I thought he was going to give me a nice apology or invite me over for dinner, but no, he invites himself over to my house, and says he's going to bring Mckenna.

Of course, I was really excited to see Mckenna.

But I don't know how I would handle talking to my dad. Also, he's going to say some shit about Michelle, which I won't put up with.

I thought I could just invite Michelle to join the party. Mckenna likes Michelle. But would that make the situation more difficult? Or would it bring apologies out of my dad.

I decided to call Michelle.

ring, ring, ring, rin-

"Babe?" She answered sweetly into the phone.

"Chelle, I'm in, uh, a bit of a predicament." I respnded. She giggled and said,

"Oh, and what is that, Bri?"

"Dad," I replied casually, as if it was normal to have a dad not let you talk to your sister, then just invite himself over.

"Aw, shit, what did that asshole do now?"

"Just come over, will you?"

She sighed into the phone. "I guess I will, but if this causes anything else I'm leaving. Not you, but, the scene, deal?"

"Deal."

"Great, um, well I guess I'll see you in a few minutes then."

I smiled. "I love you,"
