The reality of the situation was setting in. I just couldn't believe that my friends would just do something like that! I mean, granted they weren't really my best friends, but I was in a band with them, where we spent all of our time and worked really hard to get where we were.
So Mckenna and Viki were kind of chatting, and I decided to call Charlotte and ask her how she was enjoying Matt and the "wonderful view of his dimples," as she would say.
And, I wanted to hear what she had to say about the situation. I decided she should just come over, and her and Viki could meet and maybe me, Charles, Viki, and Mckenna would form a new friend group and maybe form a band. Hopefully.
"Ello!" Charlotte said cheerfully into the phone. That instantly brought a smile on my face, and I knew she could lighten the situation.
"Hey, Charles." I said back, waiting for her to rant about her new house and stuff.
"So, Meg. The house is gorgeous. I love it, and the room I took is huge. I don't really care about the size though... I mean, can you believe I'm living with M. Shadows and you're living with Synyster Gates?"
I giggled. "No, I really can't."
I could hear her smile into the phone. "I know. But... there's something I kind of want to talk to you about, Meg."
"Yeah, go ahead! You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" I said, trying to sound all mature and advice-giving.
"Megan. Matt and Val will not stop."
Mckenna and Viki were conversating Avenged Sevenfold and I could see Mckenna holding in laughter, as Viki fangirled and she had no idea that all of the guys were right downstairs.
"Charles, what do you mean?" I said curiously into the phone.
"They won't stop pestering eachother. And they are arguing for hours on end."
I furrowed my brow and thought to myself for a minute. "Meg?" she asked. "Is everything alright?"
"Uhh, yeah. everything's fine. Go on?"
"Okay," she said. "Well, on top of that, Alex keeps texting me. He won't stop. I ignored him until a few minutes ago, and I just told him to shut up and leave me alone."
"Oh... Charles, what do you think he's thinking?"
She groaned. "I don't have any idea! I'm hoping he'll tell me because I'm curious!"
It was silent for a moment.
"Ugh. Anyway, what's up with your house? How are Michelle and Brian?"
"Michelle and Brian.... seem off too..." I trailed. "Can you come here? Don't Matt and Val live right down the street?"
"Mhmm." She said. "We're gonna leave for your house in a few minutes anyway."
"Okay, but Charles?" I said.
"Yes?" she asked.
I held my finger up to Mckenna and Viki, telling them to hold on. I stood up off of the bed and walked out of the room, quietly saying, "There is a new girl here. Her name is Viktoria... and she's from Sweden..."
"Ooohhh Megan you guys could speak Swedish together oh that would be hilarious!"
I rolled my eyes. "Charles, she's and A7x fanatic, like us. She doesn't know about anything yet... so... don't tell her. She's gonna be surprised."
She giggled. "Yeah."
"So, okay, yeah, just come over here then come upstairs... my room's the third on the right. We're gonna have a blast tonight."
"Agreed. Alright, see ya in a few!" She said.
I hung up the phone. I smiled at the sound of her accent.
I slowly walked back into the room, smiling at Viki and Mckenna, then sitting back down onto the bed. "What happened?" Mckenna asked.
"Charlotte's going to be here in a few minutes."
She smiled. "Oh, cool! But... what about the other girls? Mery, Katie, and Maddie?"
My mouth opened and closed a few times. I remembered, I had not told her yet. The thoughts of my bandmates and friends just abandoning me and Charlotte like that. It kind of rained on my parade, especially with the summer night at the Synyster Gates's house. With a bonfire, sweatshirts, bathing suits, swimming, alcohol, a drunk Avenged Sevenfold, and food. What more could I ask for?
I did, even though my friends just left me, think the night was gonna be really fun. In California, with my best friend, my new, close friend, and my new new friend.
The only problem that there could possibly be would be that Brian and Michelle got into an argument, or Matt and Val did, or both... because the fact of the matter was, that Brian was going to get completely drunk because his best friend couldn't go to his house for a barbeque anymore.
He couldn't go on tour with him anymore.
I didn't even know what the guys were going to do for a drummer. And frankly, I was worried about myself.
My kind of moody, strange mom, Leana, is no longer around. She may be a weirdo, but I still love her.... so with her just suddenly out of the picture, and me living with strangers, I don't know what to do.
My life really is turning out to be an emotional rollercoaster, because, on top of everything, I did miss Jimmy. I may not have known him in person, but I'm a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan. I know what he was like, I know how awesome he was.
And he was this insane, fun, weird, dark, beautiful, perfect person that was my father. And I didn't even get to meet him. It hurts, knowing that my idol was my father and he died, and my other idol, was completely screwed up because of it.
What if I could have done something?
Suddenly, I heard the front door close, and Matt's voice echoing throughout the house. "Brian!" he called.
I put my hand in my face. Matt just blew it right there. I peeked through my fingers to see if Viki noticed something was up. She seemed to be thinking about something else.
I heard the instantly recognizable footsteps of Charlotte as she ran up the stairs.
"Viki, I'd like you to meet my favorite person in the world- my best friend." I said.
Charlotte stepped into the room with a huge smile on her face. "Viki, this is Charles, and Charles, this is Viki."
And the fun begins.
