(Megan's POV)

We drove with the music playing quietly in the background and the windows down. This was so exciting, yet so, un-exciting at the same time. I didn't know what to make of it.

The wind from the windows was blowing all of Brian's cigarette smoke into my face, so I just pulled my hoodie up over my nose.

Michelle noticed and sighed audibly, rolling her eyes at Brian. It was pretty funny actually. They were like an old married couple.

Michelle ended up lighting up too, and so did Mckenna, so all these curly plumes of smoke were flying right in mine and Charlotte's face. She giggled and pulled her shirt up over her nose, too.

Charlotte was smiling and she seemed like her mood had improved. She leaned in toward me, and with the sunroof of Brian's car letting in the moonlight, her dark brown hair shone in the silvery light and it looked really cool. "Alex is an insane motherfucking douchebag," she said with  a crazy grin on her face with her thick English accent.

I chuckled, then put my head out the window once again, so the wind blew my hair back and I could smell the campfiery smell of summer nights.

I watched as we pulled into the huge Detroit Metro Airport, and watched the planes take off and land. I always loved watching airplanes.

Brian pulled into a large parking garage and returned his rented car, then waited for the rest of the gang. As we stood outside for a few minutes waiting for everyone else, it started to get really cold. Me and Charlotte tried to get closer and heat ourselves up but it didn't work.

Finally, a row of cars pulled into the parking garage, and they all returned their rented cars.

Of course, nobody was really in that good of a mood except for Katie, Maddie, and Mery, although through my disappointment I managed to not stop laughing.

"Dude what's so funny?" Charlotte giggled.

I bit the inside of my cheek and whispered, "Synyster Gates is right. There." I said and we both kind of fangirled.

"I heard that." Brian said from right behind us. Me and Charles glanced at eachother wide-eyed and turned around, to find Brian with his arms folded and a smirk on his face. I felt my face heat up but I just turned back around.

I could hear Charlotte shivering, and giggling because it was getting really cold, really fast. I kept thinking that something bad would happen to her soon, like, Alex would be on the plane or something. I dismissed that unrealistic thought.

At least right now her mind was off of the subject.... and she seemed pretty happy.

Matt, Val, Katie, and Maddie approached us, followed by Zacky, Gena, Johnny, Lacey, Jason, Mery, and..... mom?

Fuck, I guess she was going.

My mom approached us and as our rather large group began making our way to the airport bus stop that would take us to the terminal, she walked next to me and took my hand.

My instinct was to look up and give her a disgusted look. She gave me a sympathetic smile. "Oh, stop with that." I said.

"Why are you even coming with us, Leana?" I asked.

"I'm not." she responded with a shrug.

I raised my eyebrows and jumped for joy in my mind, hoping she wouldn't notice how happy I was about that. "And Megan," she continued.

"You're not coming back home."

I furrowed my brow and frowned. "Well why not?"

"Because, Megan, you don't understand. I no longer get child support from your father." she said, not making eye contact with me.
