Hi there. I'm Olivia Anne West. I'm 15 years old and my life is sort of great. I've got amazing friends, a great family, and I find school pretty easy. It sounds easy enough, but that's just the top layer of a pit of complicated. Have fun learning what being a teenage girl is all about.
These are supposed to be the best years of your life. Yeah right. Boys, back-stabbing friends, drama, depression, and society are sure awesome. We are expected to be skinny, pretty and smart. Us girls are supposed to "get all the guys". Some people like to believe this, but it's just not the truth.
BEEEEEEEP! My alarm clock bursts into my dream.
"Ugh shut UP!" I groan as my fingers fumble for the snooze button. I click the button on my phone to check the time: 6:00 am. Unwillingly I roll out of bed. Oh the first day of school, what a joy. I walk into the hall and bang on my little brother's bedroom door.
"Cameron, wake up! You don't want to miss your first day of 5th grade!"
I shuffle into the bathroom and my fingers automatically turn on the tap. I take off my headgear and look in the mirror.
"I woke up like this" I think jokingly.
I wash my face and brush my teeth, then I head downstairs for breakfast.
"Olivia, you're awake!" my mom greets me with a smile.
I look at the counter and see breakfast has already been made for me: Arizona Tea, a pile of scrambled eggs and toast.
"I made you breakfast for your first day back to school" she grins at me.
"Thanks a bunch mom" I reply groggily. I quickly eat my breakfast while checking my Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter. Just as I'm walking out of the kitchen my brother Cameron appears.
"Morning Cam" I say, ruffling his thick brown hair. He doesn't reply.
I walk back upstairs to my room and get changed into my favorite outfit: a cropped Nirvana tank top that shows my bandeau, studded cut-off shorts, and my white Converse. I throw my straight dark brown hair into a high-ponytail and walk over to my vanity to do my makeup. My makeup routine usually only takes a few minutes. I start out with concealer and foundation. Then I use eyeliner and wing it out slightly. I finish with mascara and lipgloss. I grab my phone, my little emergency bag, and my leather drawstring backpack. I yell a goodbye to my mom and Cameron as I head out the door into a warm California Monday.
