Chapter Five

By the way peeps I eliminate people realistically, not due to whether I like them or not. Also, I decide what team wins as I write, I don't have a winning pattern or anything.

I'm sitting at breakfast, listening to Eva and Bridgette's interesting conversation about how annoying sexism is. I totally agree with everything they say. But all I can think about is how to use Trent and Gwen's little secret against them. I think that if they make it to the merge, I'll make them vote for whoever I say and if they don't I'll leak their secret. There. That's a perfect plan. I force down my last bite of food and look up at Chris who interrupts Eva and Bridgette by announcing the challenge for today. "Todays challenge will be held on Boney Island, so boat your teams over there!" He says. I put away my tray and jog over to the dock with my teammates. I study the other team and can immediately notice something big missing. Owen. Well, he did lose the challenge for them. Plus, he's annoying so I'm glad that he's gone. I see two large boats that can fit both teams. DJ and Geoff sit next to each other in the front of the boat, with Sadie and Katie behind them. Eva and Bridgette sit down in the row behind them so they can continue their conversation.

My confessional: "Dang it I wanted to sit with Bridgette."

Tyler take's a seat in the next row. "You should sit with me, princess, we got stuff to discuss." Duncan says to me with that stupid ugly grin of his. I glare at him then sit by Tyler. Ha, now he has to sit in the back row with Ezekiel. Each row has a paddle, so everyone starts to paddle towards Boney Island. "Row faster, guys. There might be a prize for the people who arrive first!" I yell at my team. "Yes sir!" Says Duncan, and Geoff and DJ laugh. "Real mature, guys." I say. I'm still stressed about my kiss with Duncan yesterday, but he's acting like nothing happened. Except for that he wanted to talk, and it was probably about that. We finally arrive at Boney Island, right before the Screaming Gophers. "Do we get a reward for getting here first?" I ask Chris. "Nope!" He says, happily. Dang it. We exit the boat and stand in front of him and Chef. "The next challenge is one that will take a while. The goal is very basic, but very hard to achieve. You and your team will find 7 bandana's with your team logo on them. If you find one of the other teams bandana's, you can hide it or keep it with you, but you better not let the other team see, because anyone in the right mind would fight to get it back. Haha. The first team to get all their bandana's and report back to Boney Island beach wins! Sounds easy right? WRONG! And you'll find out why when you do the challenge. Oh, and I forgot to mention, there is a invincibility statue (my face in stone) and if you find it you get invincibility! The bandana's are hidden all over the island, including in the cave and places you've never explored! Each team's bandanas are equally hard to find. GO!" I run into the woods and start frantically looking. Then I realize we need a plan. "Guys, huddle!" I command. We all huddle. "Okay, so we should break into groups of two and all look in different places. If you find another teams bandana, keep it with you! If you see people from the other team, check and make sure they don't have any of ours! If you find one with our logo, keep it with you and guard it with your life!" I say. "Sounds like a good plan to me!" Says DJ, and the rest of the team nods in agreement. I see Geoff and DJ partner up, and Sadie and Katie, of course. "Wait, you two can't be partners! Remember what happened last time? You guys got lost! I watched it all on TV!" Eva says to Sadie and Katie. "Good thinking Eva! Sadie and Katie, you two need new partners!" I command. "Noooo! I wanna be with Katie!" Says Sadie. "And I wanna be with Sadie!" Says Katie. "Too bad no one cares!" Says Duncan. For once, I agree with him. They are so annoying! "Fine. Wanna be my partner, Bridgette?" Sadie asks Bridgette. "Sure!" Says Bridgette. Dang it! Now I can't tell Bridgette what happened with Duncan! I couldn't tell the girls last night because I didn't know if they could all keep a secret. Hopefully Duncan didn't go bragging to the boys! He probably did. "Tyler! OMG I am such a fan of you! Can we be partners?" Asks Katie. "Well, I like Lindsay!" Says Tyler. "Gross, I don't like you, OMG! I just wanna be your FRIEND partner!" Says Katie. "Oh, okay! I'll be your partner." Says Tyler. "Okay, there is no way I'm gonna be partners with this guy." Duncan says, pointing to Zeke. "Hey!" Zeke says. "Sorry dude, you are so annoying! So who's gonna be my partner, Ms.CIT or anger management?" Duncan says. "Actually, me and Eva are partners, so you have to be with Zeke!" I say to Duncan, and link arms with Eva. "Whatever." Says Eva, pulling her arm away. I don't wanna have to work with her, but its better than Duncan or homeschool. "Dang it!" Says Duncan, and Zeke frowns at him. "Okay, how about me and DJ hit the cave, Duncan and Ezekiel go up the cliff, Courtney and Eva look in the swamp, and everyone else looks around the forest?" Geoff suggests. "Why would there be a bandana in the swamp?" Eva angrily asks. "Because its Chris and Chris is evil." Says Bridgette. "Be careful Geffy!" Says Bridgette. Eww. "I will!" Says Geoff and gives her a hug. Me and Eva head towards the swamp. I need to find that invincibility statue, but how can I with Eva constantly by my side? "There it is." Says Eva. "Okay, I don't know what we're supposed to do, because the water is all muddy so we can look through to see if its underwater." I say. "Well I guess we have to search through the... wait look! On that lily pad! There's a bandana!" Says Eva. Wow, that was easier to find then I thought. Maybe this challenge won't be so bad. "I see it too! But I can't tell if its Screaming Gophers or Killer Bass!" I say. "Well either way is good. Either we get one of ours or steal one of theirs." Eva says. "Who should get it?" I ask her. "I'll get it. I'm really good at swimming." Eva says. Well, so am I, but I'd rather not get covered in muddy water. "Okay!" I say, and she jumps in and starts to swim. But then she turns back and starts swimming back at top speed. She leaps out of the water. I then see leeches sucking on her skin. "AAAAH! GET THEM OFF!" She screams. Not so tough anymore, huh? I quickly begin pulling leeches off of her arms and torso. Once we pick all them off, she says: "No way am I going in there again, you go!" "Well I'm not gonna get attacked by leeches! We need a plan so neither of us gets hurt." I say. "Ugh fine then whats your plan?" Eva asks. "Hmmm. Oh, I know! We can make a hook something then attach it to a long vine, then throw the rope to hook it on the lily pad with the bandana on it and reel it back to shore!" I suggest. Eva picks up a rock and snaps two sides off, making a pointy tip. I open my mouth in shock of her strength. I go over to a tree and pull off a very long vine since the lily pad is so far away. I hand it to Eva and she ties it to the bottom of the rock, then aims and throws the hook at full speed towards the lily pad. She has enough length but her aim is off. "Dang it!" She says . She reels it in and chucks it back in. This time it hooks onto the lily pad! "Yes!" We both yell. She reels it in and then takes the bandana off the lily pad. "Its from the Screaming Gophers!" I say. "SHHHHH! They might hear you. You need to hide it!" Says Eva. "I know! I'll put it in my bra! No one will look there!" I say. Then I shove it in my bra and try to make it look normal. "Good enough." I say. "We shoul try to find some of our teammates and see if they've gotten any bandanas." Says Eva. "Okay, lets walk towards the cave and try to find Geoff and DJ." I say. "Okay." Says Eva. As we walk to the cave, we hear Noah shouting at Izzy to: "Stop jumping branch to branch and grab the bandanda already!" I put my hand out to signal Eva to stop. We watch as Izzy comes down, and see Noah say: "Oh good, its a Screaming Gopher bandanda!" "Lets beat them up and take their bandana!" Whispers Eva. "No way, we have to mind our own business so we don't cause any drama that will mess up the challenge!" I whisper back. "Ugh fine whatever." Eva says glaring at me. We wait for them to walk off then continue towards the cave. When we almost get there, we bump into Geoff and DJ. "Hey guys! We found a Screaming Gopher bandana and we're hiding it in my bra! Did you find anything?" I ask them. "You hid it in your bra? Awesome idea, dude! When we went to the cave, there was a bear sleeping with the flag, so DJ woke it up and befriended it, and it gave us the flag!" Geoff said. I notice that Eva rolled her eyes when Geoff told us about DJ befriending the bear. "That's great! Is it our bandana or the other teams? Where did you hide it?" I ask them. DJ pulls a bandana from the back of his pants. Its a Killer Bass one. "Gross, you kept it in your pants?" I said. "You out yours in your bra!" Geoff argues. "Okay okay fine. Its good that we have a flag! One down, six to go!" I say. "We better find more people and see if they found any flags and decide where to search next!" Says DJ. "Yeah, lets go to the cliff, and look for Duncan and Ezekiel, and look for flags on the way." Says Geoff. "Well the cliff will take a while and a whole lot of energy to climb, lets just look for the other two pairs." I say, making excuses of why not to go near Duncan. "Okay, good idea we should save our energy." Says DJ. We walk around the forest for a while, then we see Heather and Cody. "Fancy meeting YOU here." Heather says. "If you have any of our bandanas I advise you hand them over right now so you don't get beaten up!" Eva states aggressively. "Oh chill out anger management. Do YOU have any of OUR flags?" Says Heather. "No." I say. Good thing we hid their flag so well! "Actually, we couldn't have your any of your bandanas because we don't have any yet." Says Cody. Heather smacks him. I laugh. "Have fun finding them!" I say, then we walk off, Cody wincing in pain and Heather scowling. We continue to walk until FINALLY we find Tyler and Katie. "Got any bandanas yet?" I ask. "No we can't find, like, ANY!" Says Katie. Ugh I knew it was a bad idea to put those to idiots together. "Do you guys have any?" Asks Tyler. "Yeah, we have one Killer Bass one and one Screaming Gophers one." Geoff says. "They Screaming Gophers one is in Courtney's bra and the Killer Bass one is in the back of DJ's pants." Geoff says. "Awesome dude!" Says Tyler. "We should find Sadie and Bridge!" Says Geoff. "OMG yes we totally haaaave to find Sadie!" Says Katie. "Okay. But then we have to look more! We only have one out of 7 Killer Bass bandanas that we need." I say. We start to walk around the forest. Fifteen minutes later we came across Leshawna and Beth. "Oh hey guys!" Says Beth. "Hey!" Says Katie. "Hey you guys got any flags?" Asks Leshawna. "None yet." I lie. "Well sorry, we have to search you guys just in case! Hands up!" She says. We reluctantly put our hands up, knowing that she won't check the spots we hid our bandanas. But she does! Not my bra, but DJ's pants! "Aha!" She says. "But aww its a Killer Bass one. We don't need it, I guess you guys can keep it." Beth says. "But I am not happy about ya'll lying that you don't got any flags!" Leshawna says. "Sorry." Says DJ. "Now WE have to search you!" Eva says. Leshawna and Beth look at eachother and run, but we catch them. I search Leshawna and Geoff searches Beth while Eva and DJ hold them in place. "Aha!" Says Geoff. "She has a Killer Bass bandana hidden inside her ponytail!" He says. Leshawna sighs. We let them go and sprint off so they don't get in a fight with us. "We lost them!" Says Eva, panting. "Good!" I say. "That was kinda mean!" Says DJ. "It was for the challenge, and hey, we got another flag! Only five more to go and our other teammates might have some!" I say. "Yeah, lets find Sadie and Bridge!" Says Geoff. We walk and after about 6 minutes we hear two people calling: "Killer Baaass! Killer Baaaaass!" "Sadie is that you?" Katie says, getting excited. "OMG Katie!" Yells Sadie and runs over and hugs her. "We got a Killer Bass bandana from the tippy top of an unstable tree and a Screaming Gophers one from a rat infested dead log. That's why I have scratches all over my face. I hope I don't have rabies!" Says Bridgette. "Awesome! Now we only need four more Killer Bass bandanas!" Says DJ. "Yeah, and we don't have to worry about the Screaming Gophers winning because they can't without the bandana I hid in my bra!" I say. "You hid one in your bra?" Bridgette asks. "Yeah." I say, giggling. "And DJ has a Killer Bass one in his pants." Says Geoff, who is holding the other Killer Bass one. "Oh, that's smart of you guys to hide them, we should probably hide ours too!" Says Bridgette. "Have you guys run into any Screaming Gophers?" Eva asks. "Yeah, we ran into Trent and Gwen but they just waved and walked away." Says Sadie. I note that they probably did that because it could have been Sadie or Bridgette that saw their kiss, so they want to be on good terms with everyone. "We better go find Ezekiel and Duncan." Tyler points out. "NO! I mean, no, that's a bad idea, because first we should try to find more bandanas down here." I say. "Okay that's reasonable, lets look down here and then try to find them." Says Bridgette. "Lets look on the beach! You never know, they could be anywhere!" Says DJ. "Good idea." Says Tyler, and we set off to the beach. When we get there, Eva makes a smart suggestion. "We should dig. I know it will take forever but Chris most likely buried some to make it hard to find. After about 30 minutes of digging, I hear Tyler say: "Yess!" "Did you find one?" Bridgette asks. "Yes, and its a Killer Bass one!" Yes! "We only need three more!" I exclaim. "Lets find Duncan and Ezekiel!" Says DJ. Oh fine, I guess I can't hide from him forever. We climb the cliff and find Zeke and Duncan SLEEPING AT THE TOP!? "What the heck we are in the middle of a darn challenge get the heck up!" I yell. Duncan quickly bolts up to sitting. "Five more minutes mom!" Says Ezekiel. "Your mother is not here you idiot! Now get your butt up!" Raged Eva. He quickly sits up and looks up at her. "Chill! We're resting because we got TWO bandanas!" Says Duncan. "Oh wow, what a huge achievement hand them over!" I say, annoyed. "What is the princess jealous that we found more than her?" He smoothly replies. "YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY I FOUND!" I shoot back. "Okay then, show me!" He says. "Actually, Eva and Courtney only got one!" Says Tyler, and I elbow his as hard as I can. "Ow!" He says. Duncan start to laugh. "NOT FUNNY!" I yell, causing him to laugh harder. Boy do I wish I could kiss- I mean- smack him right now! "Okay calm down! Lets put all our bandanas together and see how many we collected!" Bridgette says. We all take out our bandanas and show them to each other. I see that Duncan has a Killer Bass one. "Where's yours, Ezekiel?" Asks Duncan. "Uhh, well remember when I had to go pee?" He says. "Yes, what about it?" "Well, when I set it down to pee it flew off and it got blown off the cliff, but I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to be mad. We all make mistakes, ay?" He says. "You idiot!" Says Dunky- I mean- Duncan... the.... um... jerk! Yeah that's it, Duncan the not hot jerk! "Ugh!" Yells Eva and face palms. "Was it a Killer Bass one or a Screaming Gopher one?" Asks Bridgette. "It was a Screaming Gopher one." Says Duncan. "Well at least we still have all of ours!" I say. "Awesome!" Says Geoff. "Stop saying awesome it bugs me!" Says Eva. "We need to find TWO more only!" Says Tyler. "How about me and Courtney go see if the Screaming Gophers have ours and the rest of you look all over." Suggests Duncan. "NO WAY AM I GOING ANYWHERE ALONE WITH YOU!" I exclaim. "Scared you'll get to tempted and kiss me again?" He says. "What do you mean 'again' I never kissed you!" I said, trying to cover for myself. "Yes you did, in Island and Action!" Says Katie. "OMG yeah!" Says Sadie. "Oh yeah, that. Those are such bad memories that I made myself forget them!" I lie. I remember each and every one of our kisses. For a second I think I see what I identify as hurt in Duncan's eyes, before he brushes it off by laughing. I bet it was an uncomfortable laugh. "I agree with Duncan, you two go and the rest of us look." Says Geoff. Way to go, jerkface. "I second that!" Says DJ. "Well if the guys agree, I third that!" Says Tyler. "We fourth that! You two were SUCH a cute couple!" Chorus Katie and Sadie. Bridgette gives me a sympathetic look but doesn't argue. "Well, the majority of the team says we should go together, so come on lets go!" Says Duncan, grabbing my hand. I quickly pull away and feel a stab of hurt because I wish I could hold his hand back. I looked up to see the same hurt look I'd noticed moments ago, but it was quickly restored to a casual expression. We walked off into the woods. When we are a good distance away from our teammates, Duncan grabs my shoulders, turns me to face him and looks me straight in the eyes. "Yesterday. What did it mean to you?" He says. His eyes look soft, sad and confused. "Like I said, it was a big mistake!" I say aggressively. "Was it?" "YES! Don't talk to me!" I respond, then pull away and start to speed walk. Then he starts singing. "But it was so nice and perfect like old times." I admit, he has a nice voice. "WHAT THE HECK I JUST TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK TO ME!" I angrily yell. "I am not talking, I'm siiiiiiinging. I watched World Tour, you know, and I know you said you liked my voooooice." He sings. "That was a long time ago, when I thought you liked me!" I say, and hurt fills my whole body. He turns me around again and this time wraps one hand around my waist and gently puts the other on my face. "I DID like you. Even after I kissed Gwen. Even in All Stars. Heck, I still like you! Kissing Gwen was a mistake, but I knew there was no turning back after, I knew how stubborn you were and that my apology's wouldn't matter to you, so I stayed with Gwen. And I'm sorry. I miss you." I get a warm feeling. But I know this is wrong. He messed with my trust and hurt me so deeply. "I miss you to. But not in the way you miss me. I was so hurt that my hurt pushed my feelings for you out of me. So, I miss having you around, and since that was a good apology, I'm willing to be friends. Just know that, there's no chance of me getting back with you." I say. It hurts, and its not true, I don't miss him as a friend, I miss him being my boyfriend, but its not gonna happen after World Tour. To my surprise, he starts to cry like a little kid! Like, full on sobbing! I have no idea what to do, so I wrap my arms around him. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? We can be best friends!" I know I should tell him to suck it up. I know I shouldn't care. He didn't seem to care when I cried in World Tour. But I do care.

My confessional: "I only hugged him because he was crying!"

"Okay." He says in a small voice, one that I've never heard come out of him. Then he pulls away and wipes his tears away. "We should keep looking." He mutters. "Yeah." I say, fighting back tears. Fighting back the urge to wrap my arms around him and kiss him right on the mouth. We continue walking, in silence. Its kinda awkward after what just happened. "Wait, earlier me and Eva saw Izzy get one from out of a tree. Maybe we should be looking up, too." I say. "Good idea, but there are like, a million trees. How can we know which ones have flags? I bet Noah and Izzy looked up and saw one in a tree, but in this area of the forest you can't see to the top of the trees." Duncan points out. "We need to somehow fly. But how?" I say. I know how to make my heart fly- no- soar. All I would have to do was kiss Duncan. But that's off topic. And never gonna happen. "We could try to make a hang glider. Then we could climb to the top of one of these trees, jump off, and glide!" Duncan suggests. "Yeah. I guess. It will take up a whole lot of time, but its our last hope." I say. Fifteen minutes later we have made sharp objects out of rock and cut down one massive tree. "Okay, we can use this wood to make the beams and stuff but how are we gonna make the part that keeps us up? Like the thingy that makes it gilde? We can't make it out wood because we would sink and fall to our deaths." Duncan says. "I know! We can use this giant trap of tangled up leaves that are on this tree." I say. It most likely won't hold, but its our best shot." When we finally finish constructing it, we come across a huge problem. "How are we gonna climb up the tree and get this up the tree?" I ask. "Dang it! This thing is huge, and it will be impossible to get ourselves up and this no matter what strategy we use." He says. "This is why you always have to come up with a plan before you do things." I say. "Oh yeah? You didn't come up with a plan or suggest having a plan did you?" He asks, grinning. I look down. "Its okay, your sexier when you don't have a plan." He says. I try to glare but instead I giggle. I miss our fun times. We used to laugh a lot, they just never put in in the episodes because it was to happy and not dramatic enough. Come to think of it, they didn't show much of our sweet, happy moments. The moments that kept us together despite our differences. "Well I didn't have a plan because it was your idea so you should have a plan." I say, using all my strength to stop giggling and act frustrated. "Me? With a plan? Maybe you don't know me as much as you thought." He says. "Yeah well, I did think I knew everything about you, but then, then Gwen happened and I realized I didn't know crap about you." I say. "Yah know Courtney? You actually understand me more than anyone else. Even Gwen. Even my own parents." He says, looking down. "Well, thanks, I mean..." I say. "We should get to work on the challenge." He says briskly. "Well our stupid idea won't work so we should probably just keep looking." I say. "WAIT! Oh my god we forgot we're supposed to be raiding the Screaming Gophers!" Duncan says. "Crap! I forgot about that! Lets look for them." I say. We look and look until we finally find Gwen and Trent. "GIVE US OUR FLAG OR ELSE!" Yells Duncan. Gwen and Trent look surprised. They share a knowing look and then Gwen simply hands me the flag. Its a Killer Bass one. What the heck! Why are they that paranoid about someone knowing about their relationship? For all they know, it could be one of their teammates. Whatever. At least it benefits my team. "That was easy. What's your problem your supposed to be TRYING to win!" Says Duncan, surprised. "Well, we would rather hand it over than get beaten up." Says Trent. "Well, okay!" Says Duncan, laughing. I giggle then we walk off in the opposite direction of them. "We only need ONE more!" Says Duncan. "I know! I say. "We should probably go to the beach, to see if the other team members collected the rest of the flags." I say. "Yeah." Says Duncan. "But hey, friends?" I say, smiling at him and holding out my hand. "Friends." He says, and we shake hands. Then we find our way to the beach. When we arrive, we hand Chris our flag and then see the rest of our team. "That's the last one!" Exclaims Eva. "The Killer Bass win! Screaming Gophers please report to the elimination ceremony!" Says Chris. "YES!" I yell and give Duncan a big hug, then blush and pull away. "Dude we literally had to get the last flag out of quick sand!" Says Geoff. "Me and Courtney had an epic fight with pasty and Elvis!" Says Duncan. "Actually, there was no fight, and Duncan just wants to sound cool even though he's not!" I say, rolling my eyes. He laughs nervously. Then we boat back to the island and all hang out in the craft tent. Who got eliminated from the Screaming Gophers? What the heck is gonna happen with me and Duncan? If anyone, who found the invincibility statue? Will Ezekiel ever do anything helpful? Well, probably not but find out everything else next time on Total. Drama. Island 2.0!
