Chapter Four

I wake up to Chris's voice through the megaphone yelling "Good morning campers! Get your butts over to the mess hall, NOW!" Me and the other Killer Bass girls get up, change out of our jammies and into our clothes, brush our hair then go to the communal bathrooms to brush our teeth. When we get there, the Screaming Gopher girls are already there. Gwen looks like she didn't sleep well. Probably because she was too worried. I don't know why its such a big deal to them that someone saw, because no one care's if their together, their both single so its not cheating. But I'm glad that they're so paranoid, because like I said before, now I can use it against them. After we finish brushing our teeth, we go to breakfast. When we get to the cafeteria, Chef serves us his disgusting food then we all sit down. The Killer Bass boys get there a couple minutes later, and after getting his food, Duncan sits down next to me! I scoot over, squishing my butt against Bridgette's. She looks annoyed, but she understands why and doesn't push me away. Duncan taps me. "Look at Elvis, Court. He looks so concerned. I wonder why." He tells me. "First of all, don't call me 'Court.' And he's probably just concerned about the challenge." I say. "Omg guys Lindsay got eliminated." Says Katie. "Omg!" Says Sadie. Lindsay is nice, but I understand why they voted her off, she lost the challenge for them. When we finish eating (Forcing the disgusting food down our throats so we don't starve), Chris announces: "The next challenge will be held here, so you can all put away your trays and sit back down." Oh no, we're probably gonna have to eat disgusting food. Darn it. We put away our trays then sit back down. And Duncan sits next to me. Again. "Okay, for this challenge we will be having partners. But don't start looking for a partner, because the OTHER TEAM will get to chose who is paired with who. Now chose!" Says Chris. "Well we should obviously chose enemys so they argue and lose!" Says Eva. "I agree." I say. "Okay well then Heather has to be with Gwen." Says Duncan. "Yeah, I feel bad for Gwen, but I wanna win this challenge!" Says Bridgette, and the rest of the team nods. "I agree, besides the feeling bad for Gwen part." I say. Duncan laughs. "Whats so funny?!" I ask. "Stop fighting we need to chose who to pair up!" Says DJ. "How about Owen and Izzy, since they broke up?" I ask. "Good idea." Says Duncan. "Lets put Justin with Beth, since she doesn't like him anymore." Says Geoff. "Good idea." Says Tyler. "Only Trent, Cody, Noah and Leshawna left." Says DJ. "Well Trent and Leshawna get along, and Cody and Trent get along, so lets put Cody with Leshawna and Trent with Noah." Says Sadie. "Omg good idea!" Says Katie. The rest of the team nods. "Okay times up! Killer Bass who did you pair with who?" Chris asks us. "Heather and Gwen, Izzy and Owen, Trent and Noah, Beth and Justin, and Cody and Leshawna." I announce. I hear groans and complaining from the Screaming Gophers. "Okay what about you Screaming Gophers?" Chris asks. "We chose: Eva and Sadie, Zeke and DJ, Bridgette and Katie, Duncan and Courtney, and Tyler and Geoff." Luckily on our team, not many of us hate each other, so most of these pairings are fine. Actually, all these pairings are fine, besides me and Duncan. And maybe Eva and Sadie because Eva will probably get mad at Sadie since she's so annoying. "I wanna be with Sadie!" Says Katie. "Too bad!" Says Eva. "I hope you like your pairings, because we're doing a wedding challenge!" Chris happily states. "What?! But we already did one in World Tour!" I shout. "This one is different!" Says Chris. "You guys seriously can't think of any new challenge ideas?" I angrily say. "I SAID this one is a lot different, so shut your mouth!" Chris says. I feel my eyes well with tears then struggle to hold them back. I don't want to do this, especially not with Duncan! "Ummm Chris I'm straight!" Says Heather. "It doesn't matter, its just a challenge. So, for the challenge, first off you will chose the bride and the groom. Again, genders don't matter. Next, to get their suit, the groom will reach into a deep bucket of leeches. Then they will rush to the communal bathroom, using their swollen hands to change into their soaking wet suit. The bride's will do the same but with a bucket of wasps. They won't have to get wet, but its just as bad because they will be covered in stingers. Once they finish that, they will both take a crab out of a bucket of crabs and let it pinch their lips for 20 seconds. Every time they take the crab off, their time resets. Then they will use their swollen lips to say their I do's. Once they say it well enough for me or Chef to understand, they will kiss. That will be one painful kiss! Haha! Then, they will both run on treadmills at full speed for 15 minutes. If they fall off they must restart. If they make it, then they will use a WII to do a very exhausting version of Just Dance. It will be a 5 minute partner dance, but it will be VERY exhausting. If you pass out from exhaustion, you must restart. The first two to complete the challenge get free invincibility statues. The last two will take their team with them to the elimination ceremony." Says Chris. Wow, this will be one painful challenge, but I have to win that invincibility statue! Chef brings out all the materials for the challenge. "Ready, Set. GO!" Shouts Chris. Me and Duncan race over to two of the buckets. "I'm the bride okay?" I tell him. "Sounds good." He says with his sexy- I mean, stupid smirk that makes me want to kiss- I mean, kill him. I look down and see leeches. "Wrong one, switch!" I yell at Duncan. We switch buckets. I reach down and feel extreme pain from those stupid wasps. I grab the dress and pull my dying arm out. I grab the dress with the other hand because now my hand is swollen. I then run as fast as I can to the communal bathrooms, Heather and Gwen just barely in front of me. Then I rush into a stall and struggle to change with my swollen arm. I hear footsteps running out of the bathroom as Gwen and Heather finish and then footsteps coming in as more people come in. I finally yank the short sleeve over my swollen arm and up to my shoulder, then use my good arm to zip the back. Then I dart out of the bathroom, with Bridgette and Katie behind me. Good, at least the people catching up are Killer Bass. When I get back, Duncan isn't there yet. I get a crab and hold it up to my lips. It clamps down. I feel sharp pain as my twenty seconds start. Duncan arrives four seconds in and does the same. It hurts like heck, and I can see Gwen and Heather finishing their time and then moving on as I cringe in pain. I make it through without pulling the crab off, and so does Duncan, four seconds later. Both our lips are swollen as heck. "Now say your vows." Says Chef. "Ah duh." I say. "Sorry, that's not good enough." Chef says. "Ah do!" I say. "Okay that's fine. Duncan go!" Says Chef. "Ah duh." Says Duncan. "Not good enough!" Growls Chef. "AH DUH." He tries again. "Nope." Says Chef. "Ah, do." He says. "Okay fine. Now kiss!" Chef says. I unwillingly push out my lips and feel them collide with his. It hurts because of the swelling, but for a second, I admit it, I catch feelings. I blush like crazy as we run over to the treadmills. We do 15 tiring minutes on them, finishing at the same time and panting like crazy. Then we go over to the dancing thing, where Gwen and Heather are dancing together, and look so exasperated I think they might pass out. Chris hands us remotes. "Oh yeah, one more thing, if you get 5 steps wrong, the remote will buzz and you have to completely restart." Chris says. We look up at the screen and start to follow the moves. Duncan has to put his hands on my waist and throw me in the air then catch me, which is really embarrassing. After about four minutes that feels like an hour, I feel as if I'm gonna faint, then our remotes buzz! "Start over!" Chris commands. More teams are arriving. The screen restarts, and we restart the dance. Then Duncan faints. I kneel down. "Duncan! Get up!" I yell, shaking him. It is a very exhausting dance, but he needs to get up and do it anyway. "Duncan! Come on!" I yell. "Heather and Gwen take first place and win invincibility!" Chris says. "God dang it Duncan I needed that darn statue, now GET UP!" I command. He slowly sits up, then I yank him on his feet and we start to dance. We make it through this time, and at the end there's a dip. While he dips me, he looks like he wants to plant a kiss on my swollen lips, but he doesn't. We run over to Chris. "Second place!" He says. I nod and sit down next to Heather, and Duncan sits beside Gwen. I don't know why, but it bothers me. Here's the order everyone finishes: Bridgette and Katie, Trent and Noah, Justin and Beth, Sadie and Eva, Tyler and Geoff, Leshawna and Cody. It's now Izzy and Owen versus DJ and weak Zeke, who are all at the dance part. Zeke keeps messing up the dance moves and Owen is too tired to dance. In the end, Tyler and Zeke win! "Yes!" Yell all the Killer Bass. "Killer Bass win! Screaming Gophers, head to the elimination ceremony. Killer Bass, you can do whatever you like." Says Chris. I walk out of the Mess Hall, and speed walk towards the cabin. I'm so exhausted, I'm going straight to bed after I read for a little while. "Wait!" I hear. I look behind me to see Duncan. He catches up to me, puts his hands gently on my waist and looks me in the eyes. "I owe you an extremely overdue apology. About what happened in World Tour. I don't do well with feelings, but I can tell you that I know that what happened was a mistake, and I regret it. I am so sorry, Princess." He says, then surprises me by giving me a gentle kiss with his swollen lips. I can't help it, I kiss back. When we pull away, I say, "Thanks for the apology, I don't think I can forgive you though, and that kiss was a mistake that meant nothing!" I run to the cabin, sobbing, then I cry in my bed. My cabinmates aren't there yet, so there's no one to comfort me. Who will be eliminated on the Screaming Gophers? Did the kiss mean anything? Will I forgive Duncan?
