I wake up and sit up in my bed. After the grogginess starts clearing from my head, I remember Bridgette's elimination, which puts me in a bad mood. It was totally unfair and I miss her.
"You up?" I ask Eva. She grumbles in response. I sigh and get up.
"I'm going to get ready for the day, are you gonna get up and go with me or are we just going to meet there?"
"Meet there," Eva says sleepily, pulling her covers over her head. I understand why she doesn't wanna get out of bed, feeling defeated sucks. Losing Bridgette is a huge loss, and it's put me and Eva both into a funk. I don't know about Eva, but I personally have decided to try to be energetic. Being in a bad mood and feeling low isn't going to get us the win. We have to have energy, and I'm not necessarily talking about good energy. I'm talking about aggressive energy, the kind that gets us through the toughest of challenges. I've already eaten most of my breakfast before Eva comes in. She looks tired and annoyed.
"You okay?" I ask when she sits down, breakfast in hand.
"Yeah I'm fine. I'm just mad about Bridgette."
"Same, but we have to do our best if we ever want to get revenge!"
"True. I'm so mad at Geoff and DJ! I can't believe them."
"Same! I'll never trust those jerks again." Me and Eva eat breakfast in silence. There isn't much strategy to talk; if Geoff and DJ keep their alliance with Trent and Gwen we're screwed and if they don't then we stand a pretty good chance. We're strong players. Soon Chris comes in.
"Alright, today's challenge is a dancing challenge. It's like ultimate just dance. You'll all me on top of a super high dance floor. Underneath it will be the lake. You have to follow the dance moves of the lady on the big screen that will be in front of you. You get three strikes. You get a strike every time you fail at a dance move. Three strikes and the floor falls from beneath you, and you'll fall into the lovely lake Wawanakwa, where many lovely sharks will be waiting for you. The last dancer standing gets immunity." At least that challenge won't be as painful as some. I mean sure we'll hit the water hard and get bad bruises, and get attacked by sharks, but that's nothing on some other challenges we've had to endure. We walk to the dock and see a huge dance floor in the middle of the lake. Chris makes us swim out to it rather than just giving us canoes. What a freaking sadistic jerk. I hate him. We reach the dance floor soaking wet. Once we get on, we all stand up. Or at least try to stand up. Gwen slips and falls on her butt. Me and Eva crack up and Trent glares at us as he helps her up. The dock rises slowly. I start getting scared because it's super high up and still isn't stopping. Chris wasn't kidding about it being super high up. When people fall, they'll be sure to get real bad injuries from hitting the water. I hope I get immunity, I still have a cast from the injury the darn octopus gave me and I don't need any more injuries to go along with that. The floor finally stops. I slowly walk over to the edge and look over, which was incredibly stupid of me. Now I'm shaking from fear, we are so high up! I walk back towards the middle.
"Are we as high as it feels like her are?" Eva asks. We can see the sky around us, but since she is in the middle Eva can't see just how far from the ground we are.
"You don't wanna know," I reply to Eva. She raises her eyebrows in concern.
"Just pretend we're only a few feet above the ground and don't look over the edge. You'll do great!" DJ says to Eva with a smile, but she gives him the cold shoulder. He deserves it for being a traitor. All the sudden the screen in front of us lights up, showing an animated woman with pink hair in a pony tail. Then the word "go" flashes across the screen in all capitals. Upbeat hip hop music starts playing and the woman on the screen moves her arm to the left. Our faces appear across the top of the screen and green checks flash next to them as we do the move. The woman does many more simple dance moves, which we all easily gain green check marks on. She then continues to use simple moves, but speeds up. I feel an adrenaline rush as I struggle to keep up with her and do the correct moves. Just as I get used to the speed, the woman makes her dance moves more complex. I can still do them, but it's harder than before. The woman does a crazy movement with her right hand all over the place, then does the same movement with her left. When she does the right again, she adds in a complex movement with her left hand and arm, and we hear a giant beep noise. A x shows up next to Gwen's face. I try not to get distracted and continue to do the moves. All the sudden the dancer woman does a front flip. I quickly do the same, then hear two buzzers. I glance up and see that Gwen now has two x's, and Trent now has one. The lady now starts doing super hard dance moves that include her whole body super quickly. After like forty seconds of that, she starts incorporating front flips into her fast complex dancing. Since Gwen and Trent apparently can't do flips, they both get three x's eventually because of the flips. It is hard not to look when they fall through the floor. Gwen fell first, and when she fell DJ got an x. I saw out of the corner of my eye that it was because Gwen's fall startled him and he looked at her falling, which made him miss the move. None of us looked when Trent fell though. So now me, Eva and Geoff have no x's and DJ has only one. Me or Eva better get invincibility. We need to be able to vote for any of the others. The dancer starts doing this thing where she does a front handspring then a back handspring right after. She does this super quickly, and it is really hard but I am able to do it. I'm starting to get dizzy and I assume the others are as well. When the dancer speeds up her front and back handsprings, Geoff gets an x. I can tell from the glances I took at him that he was doing the right dance move, he just wasn't doing it fast enough, probably cause he was dizzy. Now Geoff and DJ both have an x, and me and Eva have no x's. This is going well for us. The dancer comes to an abrupt stop and does complicated ballet turns. Me, Eva and Geoff all get x's, but since DJ has done ballet before he nails the turns. Now Geoff has two x's, meaning one more and he's out. A second dancer appears on the screen and picks up the woman and throws her in the air, then catches her feet with his hands so she is standing up on his hands. Me and Eva panic and she grabs me and throws me super high. Thank goodness for her muscles. We ace the move, and unfortunately Geoff and DJ do as well. The dancer who is being held by the feet picks one leg up and brings it to her head. I do the same, but it is clear by his scream and a loud thunking noise that Geoff falls off. A third x shows up next to his face on the screen and we hear his yell of fear as he gets dropped from the dance floor and into the water. Great, now it's me and Eva against DJ, two against one. All three of us have one x. The next move, the dancer holding the other dancer throws the dancer whose has their foot touching their head then catches her and puts her down. Me and Eva nail this move, and it is easy for DJ because all he has to do is pretend to throw someone and catch them. The dancer starts doing gymnastics, and I get an x because I'm not able to do a triple front handspring then double front flip. I feel fear rush through my body, one more x and I'll be falling from cloud nine. Not that this nightmare of a dancing game is any type of cloud nine. The dancer starts to spin on her toes with one of her feet. I am able to do it for the first spin, but then I lose balance. I get an x. I scream a horrific scream as the floor opens. I claw at the air but I know that I'm about to fall. As I fall, fear shoots through me like lightning. It is really scary, scarier than jumping off the cliff on the first episode. Hitting the water hurts really badly. Not as badly as what the octopus did to be, but badly. I weakly start swimming to short, but get attacked by sharks. I am too weak from smacking the water to fight back very well, so my weak punches don't save me. I feel one of the shark bite my arm. I hear Chris laughing as the pain shoots through my body. When the sharks let me go, I weakly swim to shore. We can't see our fellow competitors very well from down here, but I try to watch. I can't tell if they are doing well or badly on the moves. After sitting here for a bit, Eva falls. I groan in anger. Chris announces that DJ wins immunity and he is lowered back to the ground. We all then go back to the cabins. Gwen is in me and Eva's cabin now, but she goes with Trent so me and Eva have the cabin to ourselves.
"I lost once we started combining ballet with gymnastics. I've never done ballet in my life," Eva tells me.
"Yeah. DJ had a totally unfair advantage seeing that he was the only one capable of doing ballet," I say angrily.
"Totally. Anyways, who are we voting for tonight?" Eva asks.
"My idea is Geoff since he and DJ are good at athletic stuff, and most of the challenges are athletic," I suggest.
"Good idea. I hate Trent and Gwen but strategy wise Geoff is the best choice," Eva agrees. A little while after dinner we head down to the elimination place. I sit on Eva's lap on the logs. She puts her arms around me. It's nice to have a close friend. Gwen and Trent are holding hands and DJ and Geoff are sitting next to each other.
"If you get voted off you can't come back ever. If your safe you get a marshmallow. First marshmallow goes to... Trent!" Trent smiles as he gets his marshmallow. Gwen smiles then looks concerned about her own safety. I really hope that DJ, Geoff, Trent and Gwen didn't vote together.
"Next marshmallow goes to... Gwen!" Holy shoot, it's looking like Gwen and Trent voted with Geoff and DJ. However, Gwen did look relived when she got her marshmallow, so they most likely didn't vote together. If they had Gwen would've been confident the whole time.
"Now it's a three way tie. Ugh! We keep having ties! There are two votes for Courtney, two votes for Eva and two votes for Geoff." I bet that Gwen and Trent voted for me because I'm a strong player and they hate me. I also bet that Geoff and DJ voted for Eva since she's a strong player.
"We've already done challenge style tiebreakers this season, so instead I'm gonna add a little twist. The person who was eliminated first in the challenge is out! Which means Geoff buddy, pack your bags!" Chris says. Me and Eva leap up and cheer. We give each other a huge hug.
"Aww man," Geoff says.
"Told you we were going to beat your guys's alliance! Now that DJ is the only one left, it's not an alliance anymore! We beat your alliance! We are victorious!" I say, rubbing the ex Killer Bass guys's failure in their faces. DJ and Geoff just glare, then me and Eva go back to the cabin as DJ waves goodbye to Geoff as he leaves.
"You know what? Maybe we should be better sports. I mean, we beat them, there's nothing to be a bad sport about," I say, surprising myself. I usually don't care about being a good sport. Eva shrugs and says "okay" and we run back to the dock.
"Good game buddy!" I yell.
"Same to you!" Geoff yells, and me and Eva wave Geoff off with DJ.
Now that DJ is all by himself, will me and Eva consider inviting him to join forces with us and take Trent and Gwen down? What will the next challenge be? How will my rivalry with Gwen turn out? Find out next time on Total. Drama. Island 2.0!
