{James’ POV}

Jealousy was a foreign emotion and I’m having a hard time dealing with it. I don’t feel threatened with any of her exes except the last guy, really. Because He’s making a point to let us know he wants to be back in her life. Then there’s MJ, her best guy friend. When I was dating Ericka, it doesn’t really matter whatever she was wearing and whoever she hangs out with. But with Nadine, I don’t appreciate it much when much of her skin’s exposed. I feel unreasonably jealous whenever she hangs out with MJ – especially when he comes and goes whenever he pleases at their house.

Then there’s the ex. It shouldn’t matter now. There’s no need to broadcast what we have, but it’s been known among our circle how she’s mine. The problem with him is that I’ve seen Nadine cry for him, hurt because of him. She was still in love with him when I fell for her. And it took her a while to finally move on and acknowledge the attraction between them.

I didn’t want to suffocate her. But the idea of him getting near her ever again leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. My phone pings.
