{Nadine’s POV}She can’t keep herself from looking at her wedding band. It was a stroke of luck that people didn’t question the presence of Father Tito Calauag. It was a known fact that real priests aren’t allowed to officiate fake weddings especially on national TV. It defies their sworn oaths. It was James who wanted him to officiate the OTWOL wedding, seeing as he officiated our wedding in Tagaytay the day before the concert, it just seemed apt that he presides again. We took off most of our original wedding vows. Although if people would actually watch the same day edit video, it’s not too difficult to decipher which parts were real and which were part of the script.
I remember the day we watched the replay of the OTWOL finale and almost had a fit at the backstage. We called ate Teena from Nice Print in an instant. Some of the clips included weren’t supposed to be included. There were snippets of our Tagaytay wedding that got mixed up with the OTWOL scenes. We asked them to shut it down and take the video off the net. But it would take a lot to edit the entire thing all over again. We were just glad no one took notice of the inconsistencies in the video.
Another thing I couldn’t help but be grateful for is James’ surprise declaration in Araneta. I got super pissed initially. I even tear up backstage and asked him why he had to do it. After a bit of consoling, it made more sense. Especially the past couple of days. We can’t deny being together all the time. It’s not like we can afford being separated in any way. The only excuse we can offer to people always seeing me in BGC and Makati area is that we are dating. It doesn’t hurt that they don’t know we’re actually married and that I now live in BelAir with James.
At the start, we agreed that we’ll still have ‘me’ times. I can go home to my parents every now and then. And he can hang with his friends. But we soon realized it doesn’t work for us. James, for all his faults, doesn’t want any distance between us. So whenever I stay with my parents, he would sleep over at Bret’s. He would have stayed at ours but it would more likely catch attention. The fact that he bought a house in QC already made the papers. It wouldn’t bode well for people to see him sleeping over at my place.
Although, we didn’t anticipate the fans lurking near the neighborhood when we started moving my things.
I had work so it was James who pushed for the move. He drove my car and went to our house to get my clothes. Photos of him in front of the house surfaced. Sometimes, it seems easier to just let people find out for themselves. But we know that being married at 22 wouldn’t really sit well with the public. We might as well mark the day we’re going to separate. The days passed by in a blur. We were always working. There hasn’t been a day when we weren’t tired. If our schedules don’t coincide, we make it a point to talk to each other all the time. Mostly though, which still surprises me sometimes, it was James who makes the extra effort. If he can’t get me from work, he would ask the guys to drive for me.
Nothing much has changed really. After all, I have been living with him since last year when we got back from Korea. Mostly the changes were in my schedule. I don’t see much of my other friends anymore, especially MJ. It’s a compromise I had to make for James’ peace of mind. He didn’t trust MJ around me. Quinito doesn’t hang with us anymore as well. Last I saw of him was New Year, I guess.
And well, instead of living in the condo, we decided to just move back to their homes in BelAir. He said he’d like it better if I have other people around the house when he’s not. Works well for me, seeing as I don’t really cook. If it was all up to us two, and James is dead tired he can’t lift a finger to prepare meals, we’d most likely be living on takeouts.
