{Paulo’s POV}
I didn’t know how to approach her. I actually didn’t mean to give her a Christmas gift. But I was due for a new lens when I came across the camera and thought it’d be perfect for her.
It was one of the topics we never run out of things to discuss; Photography. It’s not like the gift meant anything. I was just reminded of her when I saw it at the store. I know James would be cool with it. They’ve gone through a rough patch in November but all’s well now. And I’m pretty sure I don’t give James the vibe that I’m after Nadine in any way.
She started handing out chocolates for everyone on the set. When it was my turn, I gave her the paper bag in exchange.
Oh ano ‘to? You didn’t have to. Nag-abala ka pa ano ka ba.
Okay lang. Just thought of you when I saw it. Naka-sale din so…. That last part was obviously bullshit.
Sige thank you. She smiled then hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. Happy Christmas!
It was later that night when I got her text.
Hala! Nakakaloka ka Pau. Ibabalik ko ‘yung gift mo. Sobra naman yun.
No way. No return policy.
Sa iba mo na lang ibigay.
Nabigay ko na sa’yo eh. Ganto na lang, if you don’t really like it, just give it to James or to someone else. But I’m not taking it back.Hay nako. Sige na nga. Thanks! Pero I’ll buy you a different gift. Tanggapin mo ah.
The next day, she gave me a new lens. I didn’t bother telling her I already have that exact same lens for my camera.
