 Chapter 5: Beautiful yet Deadly

Peter

Holding my breath, I carefully placed the orb into Wendy's hands. She stared at me nervously while holding up the orb towards me. The orb glowed with lightning causing Wendy to stare at it in awe.

I pulled my dagger out and grinned, "The slightest knock..." I whispered then raised the dagger above my head.

I paused a moment then swooped the dagger down towards the orb hitting it hard enough to transport all of us.

A beam of light flashed from the orb and I sneaked a quick glance toward Wendy. She stared at the orb in her hands wide eyed then everything went black.

Wendy

 A dream.

 Was it all a dream?

 Impossible...

I stretched my arms over my head while a yawn escaped my lips. My eyes fluttered open to find something I certainly did not expect. Branches enveloped in leaves covered with rain water drooped above me.

A droplet fell to my cheek and ran down my face to my neck creating a path of water along my skin. I wiped it away and turned on my side. In the process, I almost fell off of the large branch I was sleeping on. With a shriek, I grabbed the branch and held on for dear life.

"Ok, defiantly not a dream." I whispered pulling myself back up. Everything came rushing back to me. Leaving the nursery... James and Liam... the magic orb... Peter... Peter.

As soon as I was back on the branch I glanced around for any sign of life, or any possible way of getting down from this tree.

James and Liam were nowhere to be seen and neither was Peter... weird. I will find them later at that moment I had to figure out how to get out of this tree. I gazed around the tree. It was full of moss and slippery to climb from the looks of it. I wasn't very coordinated and I had never really climbed a tree before. But I was on an adventure and people on adventures do things they've never done before so I sucked it up and holding onto the branch for dear life I lowered my body down to the branch below mine.

I found a spot in the tree where I put my foot in then I lowered my body down off that branch. I finally made my way out of the tree and jumped the rest of the way down. I landed on the grass with a splat causing some mud to splatter over my bare legs.

I wiped the mud away and tucked a strand of hair behind my right ear. I just climbed a tree! I felt like jumping for joy or doing a happy dance if it weren't for the fact that I was lost in the middle of a jungle with not another human being in sight.

"James! Liam! Anyone there?!" I yelled in frustration then continued walking through the jungle admiring how beautiful the scenery was. Exotic flowers full of colours bloomed all around me. The smell of the city completely washed away. It was peaceful, not a car honk to be heard. Just the sound of birds singing and tree leaves rustling in the humid breeze.

The trees stretched out to the sky and were wrapped with vines full of flowers. It was such a sight to see. I stared up at the sky shielding my eyes from the rays of sun peeking out of the grey clouds. It looks like a storm just past. Good thing I didn't get caught in it but what about everyone else?

Did they make it out ok? Did they even make it to Neverland? Anxiety coursed through my body at the thought of my brothers being left behind or lost somewhere.

No, Peter would have made sure everyone made it here ok. But where would they be?

"Peter!" I yelled out and slumped to the ground in annoyence. He wouldnt just leave me in the middle of the jungle without some explanation. He would have to come back and get me sometime.
