Chapter 10: Princess Tigerlily

Peter

The sound of my fiddle echoed through the jungle. Its smooth melody cleared my head a bit. I hadn't slept all night. I guess there were too many thoughts spinning around my mind.

The sun had just come up and the world began to wake. Birds chirped to my fiddle as I sat in my tree.

I wonder what Wendy is doing right now.

"Peter? Is that you?" Someone yelled pulling me from my thoughts and into reality. I glanced down to find Nibs staring up at me.

"Yes it's me. Who else would it be?" I chuckled smiling at him. He didn't return my smile.

"Is Wendy up there with you?" He asked and I was taken aback by his question. "N-no why would you think that?" I cursed for stuttering it made me sound weak.

"Well she never came back last night so I thought that maybe she'd be with you." His words intrigued me and I came down beside him. "What do you mean she never came back last night?"

"She went to go find you but never came back." Nibs stated worry forming in his eyes. "Wait... she's gone?! Where could she have gone? Did you look for her at all?!" I paced around in circles not knowing what to do.

Nibs grabbed my shoulders and made me meet his gaze. "Peter it's alright she couldn't have gone far. You and Tink can take the skies while the boys and i will search the ground."

"Alright... let's get a move on."

**

It felt as if I've been searching for hours. There was absolutely no sign of her anywhere. Where could she have gone to? A thought crossed my mind and I regretted thinking it as soon as it appeared. What if Hook had her?

Oh if I find out he has her I'll...

Tinks chiming and tinkling pulled me out of my thoughts. I turned to her and she pointed downwards. At first all I saw was a river flowing down into a water fall but then I saw her. Wendy was on top of a log looking over the river trying to grab at something in the water.

Surprise and shock took over my body as I flew down towards her. As I got closer I realized what she was grabbing at. It was a girl. And Wendy wasn't saving her... she was falling in herself. My heart skipped a beat and I charged for her with all the power I had left.

As soon as I was close enough to touch them I grabbed Wendy by the waist. She jumped in surprise and glanced up towards me. Something changed in her face but before I could decipher what it was she covered it up.

"Peter?" She whispered. I smiled down at her.

"That would be me."

Wendy

There was no way of telling how glad I was to see Peter at that moment. Once again he just happened to be there in my time of need. Something tingled at my fingertips and my heart began to speed up.

I had an odd feeling in my stomach. I felt relieved I really did but when I was trying to be capable of something  I ended up needing to be saved as well. I shook my head not letting Curly's words get to me.

Peter lifted us up slowly then placed me on the log he was happy to see me and alive I could tell by the smile that wouldn't leave his face. Suddenly a smile formed on my own face at the thought of maybe Peter cared about her.

He then pulled the girl out of the water.

The feeling inside of me faded as soon as Peter laid eyes on the girl I tried to save. His breath caught and his cheeks redden.

"Princess... Princess Tigerlily?" He whispered. Peter held her in his arms and I couldn't help but feel the sting of jealousy buried deep in my chest.

"Princess?" I asked ignoring the foul feeling in the pit of my stomach. She was very pretty even when she was soaking wet and my mouth formed a horizontal line.

Peter opened his mouth to speak but his words were drowned out by the sound of a gun shot. We both ducked out of instinct.

"Pirates." He cursed under his breath.

Oh boy...

"Come on we have to get out of here." He jumped off the log and flew into the air. I ran after him screaming, "Peter wait! I can't fly!" Another gun shot was fired and I ducked to the ground again. Suddenly, I was engulfed in mineral dust.I glanced up to find Tinkerbell right above me.

"Thank you." I said and flew up into the air. I could barely keep up with Peter as he flew through the air.

"Where are we going!" I shouted out once I was close enough for him to hear.

"You'll see!" He yelled back. I rolled my eyes in frustration.

"Not good enough!" I retorted waiting for him to respond. He didn't talk to me at all so I decided to stay back a bit.

The only time he did talk was when he had to tell Tink something. I asked him why she left but he never answered.

What is wrong with him?

Was the 'princess' the cause for his odd behavior? The moment he saw her he barley even glanced at me. I had a sickening feeling in my stomach and I'm pretty sure it was jealousy. But why should I be jealous? Peter and I were friends and he was 'incapable of love.'

"We're here!" Peter shouted pulling me out of my thoughts. I peered down towards the forest and noticed a clearing of trees.

There were a bunch of white things scattered everywhere and as we got closer I noticed they were small tents with smoke coming out of them.

Realization hit me then. We were headed to the Indian Territory. Excitement and fear boiled up inside of me and I speed up a bit. Something else hit me then. The girl that I saved- well technically Peter saved- was the Indians princess...

Princess Tigerlily.
