Lucy woke with the sun, her eye still unwilling to open. Sighing, she got out of bed and marched over to her bag. Pulling out a pair of skinny jeans and a form fitting red shirt, she skipped off to shower before she met with the mayor.
Throwing on her clothes, she summoned Virgo to take her bags back to her apartment for her to unpack once she got home. Walking out into the lobby, she turned her key back in and checked out before she was off in the direction of the mayor's house.
Ringing the doorbell, she waited patiently to be let in. The same maid from the day before last let her in, leading her back into the same parlor she was in before. Waiting for the mayor, she looked around the room. Books lined the shelves of the walls. There was a small fireplace stuck dead center of the seating, making it feel a little more homely. A small coffee table sat in the middle of the sofas and chairs.
"Ah Miss Lucy, it seems you have done well with this request. I thank you for taking care of the problem with no damage sustained to our buildings. I'm sorry to hear that you were injured by one of those pesky mages. If I require more from your services, I will surely let your master know. As for you payment, here is the keys and jewels as promised. I threw in a couple thousand more for the wonderful job you did as a thank you." The mayor handed her a bag and a small box, giving her a small smile as she pleasantly took the reward.
"Thank you, Mayor. I appreciate the bonus, but that wasn't necessary." Lucy shook her head, a small frown on her face.
"Think of it as insurance to make sure you come back next time I require a mage's help." The mayor chuckled, ushering her out of her chair. "I'm sure you want to get back to Magnolia, I will be sure to message Makarov of your lovely service."
"Thank you sir, I would be very grateful." Lucy bowed.
"It's my pleasure, Miss Lucy. Thank you again." The mayor waved her off as she walked back down the sidewalk and out into the city.
Making her way back to the train station, she bought herself a ticket and settled down in an empty cart. Summoning out Plue for comfort, she snuggled with her spirit as she dozed off.
Jolting awake as the train surged to a stop at the station, she groggily stood up. Apparently Plue had gone back to the spirit world while she was out. Climbing out of the train, she sighed as the sun kissed her face. Looking up at the sky for a moment she enjoyed the rays before she started walking in the direction of her guild.
Pushing open the doors, she called out to her friends that she was back and walked up to the bar. Mira was there with a smile on her face, until she saw the scar that covered her face.
"Oh goodness! Lucy what happened?" Mira rushed around the counter to check the girl's skin.
"Nothing I couldn't handle. One of the bastards landed a hit on my face. My eye should be as good as new within the week. The scar though..." Lucy trailed off, watching as Mira's eyes shown with tears.
"It looks so painful...you poor girl. I will whip you up a shake to make you feel better!" Mira darted back to the kitchen, the sound of the blender whirring to life as the doors slammed shut.
"Luce! Where have you bee- what happened to your face?!" Natsu came rushing up to her, Happy not too far behind as he landed on her head.
"Yeah Lushi, what happened?" Happy repeated, his head popping down from his perch to look at her eye.
"This one mage managed to land a hit on me as I was trying to get out of the way, I'll be fine in about a week guys it's alright." Lucy laughed off Natsu's prodding hands. "It still hurts ya know?"
