Lucy found herself lying face down on a bed, the white sheets itching her nose as they smelled of cleaner. Dragonis was standing off to the side, in his smaller form as he watched with baited breath as the doctor stood over his holder, the lacrima shining as he applied the anesthesia to put her to sleep. The doctor couldn't for the life of him figure out why the blonde wasn't going to sleep. He had administered near a lethal amount of the anesthetic and she still hadn't been put to sleep.

The blonde was lying still as per the doctor's request, and she had an inkling as to what was happening. Could it be that mated to Cobra was giving her some of his magic? If that was the case, then this was about to get a whole lot more challenging. If she thought further on it she came to realize that she wasn't even mated to him yet, that they were just meant to be. How could she have the immunity if she wasn't bitten? A light bulb went off in her head and she called out Viper momentarily.

The loud hiss that came from her spirit startled the doctor for a moment before he realized that the snake was curled up around the blonde's neck loosely.

"Hey Viper, I know you offer immunity to poisons, but does it work when you are in the Spirit Realm?" Lucy asked, receiving a small hiss as an answer.

"Is there any way that we can work around an immunity to poisons?" Lucy asks the doctor after sending Viper back.

"It is possible, but you will be awake for the entire procedure. I'm not sure how your body will react to it and it could send you into shock." The doctor brought a hand up to his chin in thought.

Lucy fought back the shiver that crept up her spine. The pain she would feel from this would be something she would just have to deal with. Glancing over to the doctor, Lucy made up her mind.

"Just do it, Doc. I have to have this done and if I can't avoid the inevitable then I'll just have to suck it up." Lucy closed her eyes tightly as the doctor nodded his head, and with bated breath, he brought the scalpel down across her back.

Sucking in a sharp breath as the medical equipment she was attached to started beeping, she forced herself to keep still as the doctor dug further into her. Every swipe of the instrument had the blonde sucking in air, the pain in her back something she never felt the likes of before. She couldn't remember a time when the pain was so acutely focused on one spot. The life of a mage meant that she would be hurt all over, bones broken, skin scraped and cut, but this was taking it to a whole new level.

Biting down on her lip hard, she tried to focus on anything other than the pain that the doctor was inflicting, albeit willingly. Humming a tune in her head, Lucy found herself slowly falling unconscious, whether it was from the pain or the sudden calm that washed over her was not of importance.

Dragonis pulled his hand away from Lucy's head, his eyes narrowed in concern as the humming from her slowed to a stop, the room becoming scarily quiet save for the sounds of the blade cutting into the girl. He watched as each drag of the scalpel pulled a flinch from the girl who was asleep on the table. He could only do so much at this point. Dragonis wasn't a miracle worker, he just knew how to pull strings. Being able to interfere with time allowed him to speed up the area around her and trick her brain into thinking it was night time. With that little distraction, he hoped the blonde could rest easily with all that was going on.

The doctor set the scalpel down and carefully lifted the glowing lacrima, hovering over the hole he made in her back. Glancing up to the spirit as he hovered over the girl, the doctor carefully lowered the glowing rock into the wound. Within seconds, the lacrima was embedding itself into her muscles, melting away as the magic infused with her. Her body jerked a few times, but that was normal. Now all the doctor had to do was stitch her up and he could go home and drink away this memory. Never once had he had to perform something like this on a conscious patient and he hoped he would never have to again.
