A Bundle of Joy

Lucy could remember just when her life had taken and unexpected turn and led to this. It wasn't too long ago. Her and Cobra had made up and spend the entire day together, enjoying each other's company before they had made their way to the guild to celebrate their coming together. Everyone at the guild was happy for them, knowing that it was just a matter of time before they mustered up the balls to just fess up and get together. Well it was Cobra who needed to man up and do so, Lucy had no qualms with it. That night when they got home they had mated, spent the whole night in each others arms in the throws of passion. From then on the two were inseparable. Cobra followed Lucy around everywhere, which wasn't all that surprising seeing as how he had done that before they had gotten together.

Weeks after they had come together, Lucy started getting sick, nothing too major, just an upset stomach and minor aches and pains. A few more weeks went by like that before she went to see Wendy about it. The small slayer had nearly fainted when she gave Lucy a check up and that was the day that the blonde's life had changed. The news had spread almost immediately across Magnolia once Cobra had found out and Lucy was suddenly caught up in a multitude of parties and celebrations. They were going to have a boy.

The months that followed was hell on everyone. A pregnant Lucy was scarier than anything anyone had ever seen, but the sight of a beautiful little boy bundled up in cloth was well worth the months of torture. They named him Lucas, something they had both agreed on well before the birth, yet they should've named him Lucien. The boy was steadily growing, at four years old, he stood taller than any kid his age and he had a sharp mind. Retaining both of his parents magics, he was able to pull of the most outrageous stunts that seemed to get everyone into a whole mess of trouble. His latest stunt had put his mother in jail and his dad was absolutely livid.

"Lucas James Heartfilia, I cannot believe you!" Cobra's deep voice struck a cord with the young lad and he found himself face to face with his father's piercing gaze.

"What did I do now dad?" Lucas replied calmly, rolling his eyes as his dad only got angrier.

"What? Why you-! Because of your stunt you pulled last week on Lahar, the asshat had apprehended your mother and is now keeping her locked up for questioning!" Cobra hissed, watching as his son flinched before looking towards his father once he found his voice.

"What do you mean? Mom got arrested?" Lucas muttered, his face paling at the thought of his mother locked in a cell.

"Gods I can't believe this is happening...Look Lucas, you can't keep pulling your pranks on people like this. Lahar had gotten seriously hurt and your mother is paying the price right now. When we go pick her up later, I want you to apologize to both of them and you will be grounded until you can prove to me that you can act like a mature young man, okay?" Cobra sighed, rubbing a hand down the side of his face in agitation.

Lucas only nodded his head, tears pricking the corners of his eyes as he turned away and fled to the safety of his room. Plopping face down onto his bed, he squeezed his eyes shut to fight off the sudden onslaught of tears. A knock at his door startled him momentarily before his dad was wandering into the room and sitting himself down beside him.

"I'm not mad at you Lucas, and I'm sure your mother isn't mad either. We just expect more from you. I understand you are still learning and you are still exploring, but your version of fun can hurt others. You don't want mommy to get hurt do you?" Cobra watched out of the corner of his eye as Lucas shook his head rapidly. "I didn't think so. Clean yourself off, we need to go and pick your mom up soon."

Cobra left the room so Lucas could dress himself before they made their way to Era. There waiting for them at the front gates was none other than a heavily bandaged Lahar and a tired looking Lucy. Lucas had very quickly broken off from Cobra, running full sprint towards his mother who was now crouched down to the ground with her arms spread out wide. Cobra watched with a soft smile on his face as Lucas burst into tears, wrapping his arms around Lucy's shoulders.

"I'm so sorry mom! Dad told me what I did was wrong and that my jokes can hurt people and I promise as your son that I will think things through more and listen to you more." Lucas' voice broke off as he buried his face into his mother's neck, feeling her hands rub over his back soothingly.

"Hey come on, where's my big brave boy?" Lucy's soft voice calmed Lucas ever so slightly, bringing a smile to the small boy's face.

"He's right here mom." Lucas squealed as Lucy suddenly shrieked, digging her hands into his sides and tickling him.

"Hmm...no I don't see him anywhere. All I see is a young man laughing like a hyena." Lucy giggled, her hands still tickling her son's sides.

"Gods mom please! I'm right here!" The boy all but screamed, his hands flailing about for purchase on something to help him in this moment.

"Alright alright, I'll let you up." Lucy smiled down at her son, lifting him up off the ground and setting him on her back.

The three waved their goodbyes to Lahar, watching as the man just shook his head before wandering into the gates. The trip back to the guild was spent with Lucas chatting about nothing of importance and a lot of laughs. Lucy had told them of her questioning, letting the blame fall onto her for the incident and taking the fine. Lucas was apologetic, wanting to prove to his mother just how much of a big boy he could be and decided to treat the two of his parents to dinner. He didn't buy them anything, he invited his uncles over to help him prepare as he sent his parents out shopping.

Natsu and Gray had almost set the food on fire and almost froze it multiple times, but a harsh reprimand from the young lad had set them on the right course. With little to no damages to the food or the house, they had the table set up, and the food sitting on the counter before they even got home. When they did, they sat down for a wonderful dinner, sharing laughs and stories about their own lives as the house was filled with happiness.

Lucy couldn't remember a time in her life when she was happier. Snuggled up to her mate on the couch with her son in her lap, she felt at peace. A thought filtered into her mind and she turned to the two most important men in her life.

"Hey you two, I went to visit Wendy today. She wanted to check up on me. While I was there she told me that I was pregnant again." Lucy said casually, watching as they both nodded absentmindedly before they sat up straight, their heads snapping in her direction.

"I'm gonna be a big brother?" Lucas asked softly, a grin on his face as he glanced down to his mother's stomach.

"Oh Gods...it's a girl...we are having a girl..." Cobra muttered, his eye open wide as he stared down at his wife.

Lucy just giggled at the starstruck look on their faces, a hand resting across her belly and her hands brushing just against her key ring on her waist, yes she was happy.

Thank you everyone for sticking around and reading this! I hoped you liked the finale. I wanted to end it here like this before I made them go through something else tragic, plus I have another idea for a story in mind if you all are interested in that. Same paring because I just adore this ship. I have a fanfiction account just encase any of you are interested in reading anything there as well as a Archiveofourown account all under the same name, Sagecycle. Thank you and I hope to see you all next time~!
