Lucy led Cobra back into the guild, ignoring the shocked gasps and angry shouts from her family. She scanned the request board for a simple job, something that wouldn't take too long for the two of them to go on to get away from the guild for a bit.
Smiling as she read over one of them, she tore it off the wall and called over to Mira who was cleaning the counter, a small smile on her face.
"Cobra and I are going to take this one Mira! We'll be back soon!" Lucy smiled, glancing over at the slayer behind her.
He seemed content, a small smile on his face as he closed his eye. Lucy couldn't help the small smile that spread across her face, finding happiness in his.
"Alright Lucy, be careful!" Mira waved her off, a mischievous grin on her face.
"Don't even think about it, She-Demon. Blondie has enough on her plate." Laxus groans, sipping from his mug of beer.
"Don't you worry about a thing Laxus! I'm not going to interfere with their relationship to speed things along at all!" Mira laughs him off awkwardly, fanning her face.
"Right, and that's not why your face is flushed too then, hmm?" Laxus teased, watching as the barmaid simply giggled before tending to someone else.
Lucy had lead Cobra down the road in the direction of the train station, telling him that she would have Virgo pack their things while they were on the train. Cobra's face went white at the mentioning of the metal cart, a small groan of annoyance slipping past his lips, but otherwise stayed quiet. Not letting go of his hand, she pulled him up to the ticket counter, chatting with the person behind the counter for a moment while he got her the tickets. Handing her the paper with a wink, he offered her a discount, telling her that such a lovely young lady like herself shouldn't be paying for their tickets. She took them gratefully, giving the man one of her heartwarming smiles before she slipped off and towards their train.
"Gods I'm glad I got away from him, I could practically smell the desperation wafting off of him." Lucy groaned, rubbing at her arms in disgust.
"You'd probably kill him if you heard what he was thinking about you then." Cobra hissed, his one eye darting back to the man behind the counter, flirting with yet another woman. "I wanted to knock his lights out."
"Well I'm glad you didn't, that wouldn't make for a very interesting mission if you were hauled off back to prison." Lucy teased, watching as Cobra scoffed.
"Like they'd do a damn thing, they let me off for a reason ya know." He chuckled, rising to stand as their train pulled into the station.
"Oh right, the probation thing." Lucy muttered, scratching at her chin thoughtfully. "You wouldn't do something to put yourself in prison again would you?"
"Hell no. Those guards are bastards that think they are just so much better than everyone. I would rather die than have to deal with them again." He sighed, finding and empty cart for them to sit in.
Lucy summoned out Viper again, enjoying the way Cobra seemed to perk up as the purple snake settled down around her neck.
"Is this one of your spirits?" Cobra asked, raising a hand to scratch at Viper's chin.
"Yeah, his name is Viper. He's rather handy in poison magic. Maybe he could show you what he showed me earlier." She thought aloud, turning to look at her spirit. "Do you think you can make him that drink you made for me?"
The snake hissed at her, his dark eyes reflecting the words he said to her.
'What do you think I am? A bartender?' Viper shook his head, but nonetheless complied.
