I rub my eyes and brush my bangs out of my face. "Okay let's get real. We both know the truth about each other."

I still don't want to get Mikan in trouble so I have to be careful with my words.

"Why haven't you shown up all this time? I know you're not sick. If you were, then you wouldn't be here in front of me asking all these questions. All this time we thought you were in your room and when we'd check on you, there'd be a guard outside your door which means if someone had entered the room then you'd have to be there but you weren't were you? That means you're up to something. Did you know that yesterday... I had knocked on your door but no one was there... not even a guard?"

"What?" He says, his skin turning pale. He's trying to remain calm and composed but its not working.

"Around that time, Imai had been taken hostage. I tried calling your phone but nothing came. All that did come was a machine that said your phone was disconnected. Why would it be disconnected and why were you gone at the moment when Imai was taken? Let's not forget that your door is literally two doors down from Imai's. You're a three star so it only makes sense that you're in the same dorm hall as her. It'd be so easy to go down to her room and take her.. wouldn't it?"

"What are you saying?" He says, playing dumb. But he's sweating buckets now. Once Mikan told me I put the pieces together. It all made sense. I just didn't realize it sooner.

It's Tobita's fault for not being present all this time. If he had, then we wouldn't be here at this time, arguing about such things as this.

"I'm saying you took Imai hostage and you've been stabbing us in the back!!" I yell. Mikan shivers. "But what is the purpose of this?"

He looks down with a grimace. "I really dislike this part about you."

"Huh?"

"Time and time again, you reveal your ugly character and really wonder why Mikan even bothers with you. You're a terrible person that makes stupid mistakes. You're always sacrificing yourself in order to protect others but you still make them suffer by hurting yourself. You never think about others do you? I hate you."

"..."

"The truth is that I've hated you for a long time Natsume. I resent you. Why is it that Mikan loves you so much? Why do you love him? All he does is cause trouble!!" He runs past me and takes Mikan by the shoulders. "He isn't anything like you think he is Mikan... do you want to know the truth Mikan? The truth about Natsume? I can tell you if you want... it'll make you sick. It'll make you hate him like I do."

"Mikan!!! Tobita get away from her!!" I yell at him but he keeps on talking crazy. Mikan doesn't struggle to get out of his grasp. Her body falls limp as if she were paralyzed.

"Did you know that I also have the future Alice? That I can tell you your future Mikan? I can tell yours and Natsumes."

"Really?" Her eyes are fading in color and I can tell that he's done something to her. She can't hear me as I yell out her name. "You know?"

"I do. It's so tragic Mikan... In the future..."

"Let her go!!! Don't listen to him!!! Tobita stop!!! Mikan don't listen!!" I try to get close but she's in his arms. If I get any closer I'm afraid he'll hurt her.

"You have children with Natsume. They grow to love you two so dearly but Natsume neglects you. He blames you for his family's death and then decides to leave you alone with your kids!!! If you want to know... he never returns." I'm shouting as loud as I can, the music is covering my voice. I'm trying to call out to Mikan but her eyes have turned gray and tears are pouring out of her eyes.

I forget that Tobita has the Illusion Alice.

"I would never do that Mikan." I say as I pound on the ground. The future forms between us and we can see everything by Tobitas hand. He crafts the future right in front of us and we watch everything he says, come to life.

Eventually, feeling like an eternity, it ends.

"I wonder... would you really never ever do that to someone you love?" A shadow towers over me. I look up, the tears have stained my cheeks and I can see through a pair of eyes.

Joshua grins at me.

"It that weren't true then why does that happen in the future? You leave your family behind and Mikan dies of loneliness? Why would you do such a thing? When has she ever been the cause of death? Is it because death haunts her?"

My ears are ringing painfully. What is happening? I can't move my body but I'm in some kind of pit of despair. Why is this happening? I don't know what to do!!! I'm clutching my head with a strong grip. I'm trying to get rid of this ringing. This feeling is hanging over me like a huge weight. The weight of the world.

"Answer me Hyuuga. Why would you do such a thing to the person you love the most?" He laughs and that too echoes in my ears. I'm groaning in my pain. Finally I hear a beautiful small sound in the distance. I look up, the life drained out of me and I see her. She's trashing about in Tobita's arms, calling my name out. She's gotten out of the trance.

"Na... tsu.. me." She says as she struggles. "Natsume!!!!" She cries. "Let go of me Yuu!!!"

I'm back.

I rub my pain-filled ears and struggle to get up from the ground. Joshua watches me attentively but does no more. "I am not the same person from the past nor will I be the same person in the future. All I can be is the person I am at this moment. Is that a good enough answer for you?"

He scowls at me and I grin.

"I don't know what you did there or what Tobita did to Mikan but it's not good enough for her Nullification. No one can stand a chance against her. Not even me."

"Yuu. Mission abort, take the girl." I sprint for Mikan when he says that.

I had finally reunited with her but fate is cruel.

"Mikan!!!" I reach for her and she gives me one last glance.

"Natsume" a pained smile on her face, "I love you."

"Wait- " my hand almost brushes over her when she fades into nothing. The only thing left is...

Her ring.

I clutch the ring in hand and plant a kiss on it.

I look back at Joshua. "You bastar-!!!!" But soon enough he fades away too. 

I'm left all alone in the stillness of the world.
