"Onii-chan, where do I place these?" Her ruby eyes water as she holds out the bags of groceries out.

He sighs as he presses her head against his chest. "Stop crying already."

She drops the bags and wraps her arms around his waist. "Sworry." She mumbles against his shirt.

"I'm here to take care of you."

"Ok."

"He's getting better." He wipes his forehead with his shirt and then lifts the bags up to place them on the counter. "Trust me. Now that it's gone-he's not going anywhere."

"Mhm." She bites her lip and holds in the tears, "The doctors wouldn't touch him but now his color is coming back." she hides her face which is pressed against her sleeves. "To be honest. I miss being able to use my Alice but I'm glad Father is fine."

"Hn." Natsume grabs a ladle and twirls the stew around the pot. "Sit. The food is done now."

"Onii-chan can't cook. You always burn the food- Oh wait..."

He glares at her and then lets out a chuckle, "I didn't burn it this time."

She stares at him and takes the bowl, slurping the broth. "It's good?" He hits her head with a wooden spoon and she frowns, "I mean, its good."

"I've been meaning to ask you."

Before she can even ask he turns around, "No."

"How is-"

"No."

"every-"

"NO."

"ONII-CHAN!" She whines. "It's not fair. I can't call them or anything."

He pours soup into his own bowl, silent in response. Then after sitting down across from her he puts his hands together.

"They're fine."

"..." Aoi smiles at her brother then slurps; happy that she's gotten him to talk, "And Mikan?"

He drops his spoon and clenches his hands, "Fine." then as if nothing happened; he picks up his spoon and slurps his soup.

Aoi narrows her eyes at him and lets it go. "Are you two dating yet?"

"Plwute" He spits his soup out in surprise then his ears turn bright pink, "Eat your soup Aoi."

"Ah, so you haven't asked her out yet." He glares at her while she happily drinks the broth.

"We were going out." He says under his breath.

"Were?" She says with emphasis as if it were past tense. "Did something happen between you two? That's too bad. She would have made a great sister-in-law."

"I... just want her to be happy." He mumbles as he stares off into the distance. Aoi notices this and decides to stop. She can almost hear his voice breaking.

What could have happened to them? He stayed for her afterall... and took so long to take care of their father because he decided that Mikan was more important at the moment.

She smiles, "I'm sure things will get better." he nods; getting up, he places his bowl into the sink and washes it along with Aoi's.
