I had just gotten out of the shower and was rushing to get dressed before I was late to work. I needed to find something to wear or I would never make it on time. I finally sighed picking out a red flare skirt that stopped two inches above my knees with an off white silk blouse.

"Why do you look like you're rushing," Cordell asked coming in and sitting on the bed. "Because I am. I woke up late and now I am about to be late for work."

"I have a question to ask."

"Can it wait until tonight?" I went over to the mirror to pull my hair in a tight bun on top of my head. "Actually it's about tonight."

"What about it?"

"I was wondering if I could take you out to dinner tonight."

"Tonight? It's a school night, who would watch the kids?"

"Your mom volunteered to watch them for us. So what do you say?"

"Are you sure you will be able to make it?"

"Since I'm the one that's asking, yes, I'm sure I can make it Lelaih." He smiled coming to me and kissing me then leaving out the room. I smiled at my pending date.

When I finally made it to work I was out of breath from running into the building. "Damn you look tired," Denise said looking at me.

"What are you doing in here?" I sat my things down on my desk and plopped down in my chair. I took off my heels letting my feet breathe. I turned on my computer and waited for it to boot up so I could check my emails and any new things I might have missed.

"I was waiting for you since you seemed to have forgotten what time the work day begins."

"I woke up late. I was up all night trying to help Sapphire with a book report on a book she or I have never read." She laughed.

"So you basically did her homework for her?"

"No, we spark notes it and went from there. But I did tell her the next time she pulled that crap she was on her own." My computer finally came up and I put my password in so I could get started. "Now what can I do for you?"

"Well, all the models have been prepped and fitted for the photoshoot next week for the sneak peek of your line."

"What about the budget? Are we staying within the lines?"

"Actually we have a few thousand left over."

"In that case go over everything again including the budget and make sure we have everything covered then let me see it for final approval. I want this first shoot to be perfect so we can't afford to make any minor mistakes." She wrote everything down while I looked through my emails for anything I needed to address. I really didn't like to check my email because most of it was just nonsense but sometimes something important would sneak its way in. I stopped when I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. I looked over to find Denise just looking at me like she needed to tell me something.

"Okay spill it." I turned to look at her so she had my full attention.

"I met a guy," she said smiling.

"What! How long has this been going on?" now I was completely hyped.

"Well, I met him at the gym and we have been seeing each other for about five months mow."

"That's wonderful. I bet you are over the moon. What does he do?"

"He's a photographer for Illumination Art Studio." I nodded. "You should invite him to the barbeque we are having next month at the house."
