Today was our last day in paradise and I was sad that it was ending. I loved being out here. I didn't have to worry about anything but being with my husband. Not only that but we were getting the chance to learn each other all over again and even some new things.
We were lying in bed with each other just enjoying each other. "So what you want to do today," he asked rubbing small circles into my skin.
"Well we haven't used the jet skis yet," I said looking up smiling.
He sat up looking at me curiously. "Do you even know how to handle a jet ski?"
"Oh yes I can and I can even beat you." He laughed showing all of his teeth.
"Wanna bet?" I raised an eyebrow at his challenge. He loved to prove that he was the big man and I wanted to prove him wrong. I wanted to show him that I could beat him hands down and I would never let him live it down.
"What are we betting?"
"If I win you give me a massage and if you win I will give you one." I thought about trying to see if I could get something better.
"Okay deal." We shook hands smiling at each other. I had to win this bet.
We took a shower and quickly got dressed so we could see who the best was. I knew this was going to be fun. We were going to be able to act like children. We never got to act like children anymore and we needed this. We had three kids so we needed all the time we could get together.
When I was ready Cordell had already got the jet skis out for us to use. "You ready for this ass whooping," he asked smiling.
"I don't know about all of that but I am ready to show you whose boss." I nudged him in the side. He turned the boat on and drove further out so wouldn't run into anyone. I was looking forward to this a lot.
Once he found the perfect spot he put the skis out on the water for us to use. He then made sure I put on a life vest in case something happened. He was always making sure I was safe before we did anything. No matter how bad things got I could always depend on him to protect me. Not only that but he would protect our children with his life as well.
"You sure you ready for this?"
"Are you trying to back out of your ass kicking?"
"You real cocky right now."
"Oh I know why I'm cocky but soon you will learn too." I poked his chest smirking. I didn't know if I could beat him or not but I wouldn't let him know that. I needed him think I could take him out.
"Alright big talker we'll see who the winner is." He grabbed me by my waist pulling me into him. He kissed my neck then biting it before pulling away to put on his own life vest. We mounted the skis and started them up. In this moment I was on cloud nine.
"The water is very blue out here." It was true the water here was a bright crystal blue. It was not like anything I have ever seen. Just being here made me feel at peace. I looked over at Cordell to see him staring at me. "What?"
"Nothing, just you look beautiful." I blushed looking away. It wasn't like he had never complimented before but this just felt different. This felt like the husband I knew and loved. I bit my lip smiling at him not knowing what to do. He smiled back sensing my nervousness feeling accomplished.
"So how will this competition go?"
"We will go to where that big rock is and then back. Whoever is the first one back to the boat will win."
"You want to leave the boat here unattended?"
"Lelaih no one is out here, the boat will be fine. That's why I brought us out this far so we wouldn't have to worry about anyone."
