After everything Cordell told me I didn't know how to act. I wanted to tell my mother about the guy she was dating but I didn't know how. And if I was going to tell her I needed more than the story Cordell told me, I needed proof. I could tell my mom was really into this guy so if I was going to show her how much of an asshole the guy was I was going to need more than hearsay. I loved my mom and didn't want to see anything to happen to her so I needed to find a way to get this guy out of her life. I didn't know what he was up to now and whatever it was I didn't want my mom involved or the victim of it.

I sat at the kitchen table trying to look over some sketches but my mind kept wondering. I needed to focus but my brain wouldn't let me. I sighed pushing the pieces of paper away from me. I needed a break from it all.

While I had my head on the table I felt someone pull the chair out in front of me. I looked up to see Sapphire sitting down looking at me. She didn't say anything but just kept looking at me quietly as she played with her fingers in her lap. I knew something had to be on her mind so I sat up.

"What's on your mind lady bug?"

She bit her lip looking down before looking back up. "Is Noah going to stay with us forever?"

"You don't like Noah? I know all of this is sudden but I thought you were getting along."

"He's okay I guess."

"You guess?"

"Well, he doesn't really talk to me, he only hangs out with the twins." Usually Sapphire didn't care who the twins played with and now she seemed jealous. I thought all them times she complained about them bothering her, she was annoyed but in reality she liked it. She and the twins had a connection and now that was being interrupted by Noah. In a way it was cute how she was feeling.

"Have you tried talking to Noah?"

She shrugged still biting her lip. She was back looking down playing with her fingers. I got up and moved over to where she was. I picked her up and put her in my lap. "Noah has been through a lot and your father and I would love it if you gave him a chance." I lifted her chin up so she was looking at me. "But if you are ever uncomfortable with him being here we will find him somewhere else to go. You are my daughter and your feelings will always matter to us."

"I'm not uncomfortable I just feel left out sometimes."

"I know lady bug but you know the twins love you, why do you think they are always going into your room? Maybe when you see them all plying together you could take the initiative and play with them."

"Okay mommy I will try." She hugged me kissing me on the cheek before she jumped off my lap running off.

I guess our talk worked because the entire day the kids had been outside playing. I liked seeing them playing together. They stayed out there all day and had just came in. So now the twins were in their room having a coloring contest and Sapphire was listening to music. I wanted to find Noah so that I could finally tell him about his father. I knew this was going to be hard for him to hear, I just hoped he wouldn't lose hope. He had come so far and I just wanted him to see what his life could be like.

I found him in his room sitting at his desk drawing. I stood at the door frame just watching him for a minute. I was soon caught when he looked up at me and smiled. "I see you've made yourself at home."

"It's easy to do especially with such a great family."

I walked into his room and sat on the bed. "It could be your family."

"How? Did my father sign over his rights?" he asked turning around to face me. He had hope in his eyes and that killed me inside. What I was about to tell him was going to destroy him. I looked down and shook my head no. "I figured that," he said sighing.
