What Changes our future

The site that's facing us makes my heart stop.

A giant hand, on top of the wall.

A skinless, corpse like face appears. A Titan.
But that was impossible, the wall was 50 metres high how could a Titan be that big!?

My attention is drawn to the gate. For a moment time has slowed, the wall cracks.

Then it's blown to bits by the giant's foot.
Giant boulders fly across the town, some crushing houses, some crushing people. I can't move, I'm scared.
Titans begin to flood in through the breach, the crowd around me disperses towards the inner gate for safety.

But my feet drag me another way.
"(Y/n)!! Where are you going!? We need to leave!", Armin calls out to me.

"Mom, Kyo... the rocks fell near them".
I break out into a run and Eren and Mikasa follow at top speed.

Everything's fine, it's fine. We'll turn the corner and they'll be there, the house will be there, just like it always is.
As I turn the corner my heart drops
"MOM!!"
The house has completely caved in.
As I run, I pass Mrs Jaeger, her legs are crushed under the foundation of the building and she's screaming at us to leave. When Eren reaches her I look for my mom.

I turn a full circle and my fears are realised. She's there. Head first. Under a boulder.

My mom was dead.

A scream draws my attention away from my moms state and tears sting my eyes. There's so many titans. I hear Mika and Eren screaming to their mother. They won't get her out. Then a thought dawns on me.

"KYO!? KYO WHERE ARE YOU", I scream.
"S-sis?". I hear the struggled attempt to call for me and turn in that direction.

Thank god, she's alive.

But I'm still traumatised by what I see.

A wooden beam is lying where her left arm is, no.
Used to be.

I run to her as fast as I can and frantically tell her everything is going to be fine.
"Mom, she's dead, she's dead (Y/n). What are we going to do?".
I'm too shaken up to answer her. How would I know. All I know is I need to worry about now. I rip the left sleeve off my cardigan and wrap it around her injury.
Then I see a flash of light brown run past me.

"Hannes!" I call out to a member of our Garrison. When I look at what he's running to, I see a Titan. It's so close.

Hannes seems so brace, running towards it, but he'll die too if he tries to fight it.
Thankfully, he seems to have taken the hint and runs back towards us, he pulls Eren and Mikasa away from their screaming mother and runs towards the gate.
I haul Kyo on my back and run after him.
"MOM!!!" Eren shouts back.
"YOU HAVE TO LIVE OKAY!? PROMISE ME". She calls out to us before bursting into tears.

I hear one last thing before I'm out of earshot and a Titan devours her.

"Don't leave me".
