A/N: I'm adding Armin to the list of love interests now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wind rushes into my face as I accelerate my maneuver gears speed. Rain attacks me as my breath quickens. I can tell that if I keep this up, I'll meet my end, but I don't want to stop. Because if I stop, it will hurt more.

"Help!", my cry rang through the city streets. The man tailing me kept getting closer and closer, and I can't seem to get away. I'm scared, I don't know what will happen to me if I get caught, and I don't think I want to.

Turning one corner, I fall to my knees. Realizing I would be found, I tried to get up but only found myself on the ground once more. In a desperate haste, I fling my head backwards in search of the man who had been chasing me. But I'm only greeted by an empty street and a sharp pain in my neck.

After returning my head to its original position, I find a hand out stretched towards me. I look up to see a boy with dark brown hair and slightly pink-tinted cheeks. Taking his hand, I stay silent as he pulls me to my feet.

"Hi. My names Eren Jaeger. I'm Dr Jaeger's son, you know, the city's main doctor." I give a small nod in response, not meeting his eyes. He sighs and brings his hand up to my face and cups my cheeks.

"Are you okay? You look ruffed up." He asks me, examining the minor cuts and bruises covering my head. "I'll take you to see my Dad." With that, he takes my hand and starts dragging me along with him. I was so surprised by his kindness that I completely forgot one thing.

"I'm (Y/n) (L/n)." I say with a slight smile and meet his eyes for the first time. They were a beautiful emerald colour, and I got lost in them every day afterwards.

-2 months after-

The clouds covered the entire sky today. I'm in the market buying bread when I hear muffled whimpers coming from an alleyway nearby. Against my better judgement, I go to investigate, and am disgusted by what I find.

Three tall boys towering over a scared, blonde boy. At first, I pretend not to see anything and turn to leave. But then I hear screams of agony coming from behind me. I turn back to see the three taller boys kicking and punching the other smaller boy.

That lit a fire in me that day. I'm not sure why, but seeing that boy out numbered and hurt filled me with rage, and unleashed a strength I didn't know I had. The bread basket in my arms comes crashing to the floor and I rush towards the bullies. Before they have time to react I jump and kick one of them, sending him flying down the alley way. The other two turn to me, ready to fight me, but when they see the murderous look in my eye, they all begin to flee. 'I'm not letting you go that easy'.

I grab their collars, mid escape, and slam their skulls together, making a satisfying crack noise. The three collect their thoughts and take off.

"That's it run away! You don't have any right to hurt anyone!". I let out a sigh and turn to the boy to my right. He's looking at me fondly with sky blue eyes. I flash him a smile and offer him a hand. He refuses it and stands up on his own, clutching a book in his hand.

"Thank you... My name is Armin Arlert and... Y-You're really strong!". I appreciate his compliments, but I can't help but notice him shivering out of control. I shuck off my light blue cardigan and wrap it around his shoulders.

"I'm (Y/n) (L/n). What's that book you have there?". He has a coat of pink on his cheeks as I lean over him to read the title of the book.

"It's about the outside world... You know beyond the wall." He looks at me sheepishly and immediately avoids my gaze. "You probably think it's stupid, you're going to report me aren't you."

"Do you know Eren Jaeger?", I ask him. He looked confused for a second, obviously expecting a different answer.

"Yes, we're friends."

"So you're the boy he mentioned. Come with me, tell Eren and me about the world outside. I would love it if you could do that more me, Armin."

-Current Day-

Why am I thinking about that now? I shouldn't think about anything but saving Trost from Titans. FOCUS DAMMIT.

But then, a scene I don't quite remember plays in my head.

-After the fall of Wall Maria-

I cling tightly to Eren's sleeve, silently crying into it. Eren has his other arm around me and is backing up slowly, but my father and doctor Jaeger are only getting closer and closer.

"Come on, (Y/n), stop being such a child! If you want humanity to be saved then you have to do it!". My father spoke to me, in the kind of voice only a psyco could possess.

"You're insane! Why would she listen to her father, who she thought was dead all these years! I may not have seen it, but I know how her mother was after that, she was calm around us but she was out of her mind! And I think both of you have been pushed off the deep end!" Eren shouted, whiles keeping a tight grasp on me and the key in his hand.

"Calm down Eren and listen to us!" Eren's dad pushes the two of us to the floor and mine keeps us pinned there. He brings two syringes close to our faces. "You two have to get to the basement! You must do whatever it takes!"

-Current Day-

While lost in that strange memory, I fail to spot the hand of a titan, which swats me like a fly into an alleyway near Mikasa. I roll over in pain and hear Mika's dejected sigh. I feel the tears start to flow down my face, and soon I'm sobbing uncontrollably.

I hear heavy footsteps from each end of the alley. So this is it, this is where Mika and I will die. I'm sorry I couldn't get here sooner Eren, and I'm sorry to leave you alone Armin. Keep my sister safe. I close my eyes in defeat.
