I thought that when I leave Wall Rose I would be happy. But I feel... sad, and angry... All I see around me is the remains of the inside of Wall Maria. People's houses, crushed and eroding. Only the memory of the people once living here remains, and even then, I can't remember how it used to be.

In desperate need to brighten my mood, I look out to the horizon. Although my horse is moving fast, I can never see Wall Maria. I can't see all the way to Shiganshina. Freedom is still a wall away. That reminds me of why I am here. For freedom. For a life beyond the walls. For the times where the five of us from Shiganshina can finally live in peace again. And with that in mind, I signal our squad into formation.

We are on the front left of the formation. Next to the squad with Commander Erwin in the centre. I look over at our squad.

"Tell me, do you think we'll ever make it to Wall Maria".

"What kind of question is that!?", Petra shouts to me. "That's not our mission".

"You're right, but I am asking you a question. Can we make it to Shiganshina". I don't know why I'm asking her that question. Something in the back of my mind is screaming to get there. It's telling me that I'm forgetting something, something important. But I just don't know what.

"10 metre coming up on the left!". My eyes dart to my left towards the males voice that called out, and sure enough a Titan is heading straight for us. But it ran straight past the squad at the end. It's an abnormal. I pull out the flare gun in my satchel and shoot off black smoke.

"Mind if I take this one?". I turn to Levi.

"Are you insane? Of course not". He shoots back at me with a cold glare. Then, Hange rides over to us.

"The Commander wants (Y/n) to take this one. Oooh how exciting, your first kill will be an abnormal! Wait, no, capture it for me!".

I look back to Levi with a cocky smirk on my face. I pull out my swords. Jumping off my horse, I plant my anchors into the titans right leg. With a speed I didn't know I possessed, I slice off it's right Achilles Tendon, then unable to controll my speed, I run my swords straight through the left aswell.

I'm about to change anchor position when the anchors already places come undone, sending me flying across the grass. The force at which I'm being thrown ultimatley tips me over backwards, so I switch from feet to hands. I spin on my hands and as I do so I shoot the anchors into the now kneeling titan's shoulder. For a split second I can see the titan preparing to jump. I suppose that's ... normal for an abnormal. I don't want to give it any time to leap so with even more speed than before I speed towards it, spinning, while upside down. I just about slice off it's nape and hit the gorund hard, so hard I find it difficult to get up.

Putting my swords away I find hand infront of my eyes. I take it then look up to see a rather surprised Levi, who pulls me up on his horse.

"Didn't know you had that in you", is all he says before riding back to the formation.

"I'll admit that was pretty amazing", Oluo says when I get back. "You're close to getting on my level."

Eld, who has my horse pipes up. "If we have a second Captain like you I think we'll get to Shiganshina just fine". Petra nods in agreement and Gunther just grunts.

"Thanks guys".

I turn to face forward and stare into the back of Levi's head. Part of me wonders how he would have handled that, I bet he wouldn't have even fell, or tripped, it may have been a quicker kill than mine. Just as I'm thinking that he speaks, only audible to me.

"The next titans, we take down together, as partners".
