A/N - GUESS WHO'S BACK!?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Armin is right. His plan may be far fetched, but I know he's right. Connie finally catches up to us, still screaming but at least he's here. I cut through titan after titan, clearing the path for our new ally.

HQ isn't far off now, only a few more metres and we're there.

*Crash*

I break through the window and land at someone's feet. I look up to see Jean's terrified yet relieved expression.

"(Y/n) you're... You're still alive! Mikasa too!".

Connie explains our plan to him quickly, just in time for us to see the giant fist of the beast smash into the face of two others. I smile while watching it. Its movements are sloppy, instinctive and forceful. They remind me of when I used to watch Eren fight those bullies...

The voices around me snap me out of my thoughts. Collective murmurs of uncertainty and scepticism. Right, I'm a leader now aren't I? Time to start acting like one. I turn and face the group of dishevelled soldiers who had previously locked themselves here in HQ.

"So? Who wants to clear the storeroom?". The soldiers look at me blankly, a few of them slowly taking steps backwards.

"Let me rephrase that. We're taking back the storeroom. What's ours is ours and we aren't going to let a few titans keep us from it! Now you either join me or stay up here and die at the hands of a titan. The choice is yours."

They finally pick up their courage and join me as we all make our way to a lower level, picking up old military police guns as we go.

I feel a hand on mine, which brings me to a halt. I turn and see Armin. looking to the floor.

"(Y/n), do you really think my plan will work?"

"Of course I do, Armin. We wouldn't see it through if I didn't believe in you". His grip on my hand tightens.

"But if it fails we could all die! A half-baked strategy has no chance of-". I put my hand over his mouth and look him deep in the eyes.

"I trust your judgement no matter what, Armin. You've saved me more times than you know thanks to that brain of yours and I know you can do it again." I pull my hand away from his mouth and use it to take his free hand.

"Wait, when have I ever saved you?". I smile in response, avoiding the question.

"I leave my life in your hands Armin because I know it will be safe there".

And with that, I join the group of the 104th cadet core who are preparing to tackle the Titans in the storeroom.
