(Your POV)

I ripped the note off the door in fear and rage. Obviously whatever slammed those doors open had to do with that man, no, demon who trapped me in a cell. Does he not realize he could die at the hands of that monster? I wonder how long Travis has known about that beast in the asylum, though I felt like there was more to the story. I knew there must have been another thing there that tried to lure me into the hall when I first arrived but I couldn't remember if it was the same one that trapped me in the cell.

It didn't matter at the moment though because the longer I wait means the more danger Travis could be in. I flung open the door and slammed it behind me, rushing down the cold metal stairs with my bare feet but it didn't matter at the moment, I needed to save Travis. I ran down the road towards the asylum. Travis had took his bike so I was left to run. I kept my eyes on the asylum and not where I was going until I tripped over something. I fell to the ground, catching myself with my hands, which wasn't a great idea as they got scratched by the sidewalk.

I looked to see what I tripped over but all I saw was a bloody mess. My eyes widened at the scene and then realised who it was and gasped, tears flushing out of my eyes.

It was Travis, all beaten and bloodied. There were so much blood and bruises it caused me to scream in shock. Who could've done this? or what. I didn't know what to do, he just laid there, passed out. I started to hyperventilate, not sure what to do. I hesitantly approached him in my shocked state, reaching out to move the hair out of his face. His eyes were swollen and his nose had obviously been broken. All I could do was cry.

I heard the click of a door and saw a woman in her late 30's come out to see what had happened. The moment she laid eyes on Travis she gasped and ran over, phone in hand, probably calling the police. She reached out to check his heart pulse as she spoke to the officer on the phone. I couldn't do anything in the situation, I just sat there with tears in my eyes, feeling hopeless. After a few minutes an ambulance had arrived to the scene with 2 police cars as well. The men exited the ambulance and pulled out their stretcher, carefully placing Travis on. The police approached me and the woman with a blanket that apparently helped with shock and began to ask questions. Though my mind was in a haze and I couldn't remember what happened after Travis was hauled away in the ambulance. The only thing I could remember from that next was all the blood...

(timeskip)

I arrived to the hospital after going back to my house to rest. Alongside me was Jasmine who was doing her best to keep herself composed. She had called me around 12pm asking if what happened to Travis was true, then asked if I wanted to go visit with her. I knew she was close to him so I agreed.

We walked up to the front desk and asked if we would be able to see Travis. The lady responded telling us to follow her. She opened one of the hospital doors and we thanked her, walking in. Travis laid there with bandages galore. I looked over at Jasmine who was shaking violently, tears streaming down her face.

"Oh my Travis, what happened to you." She whimpered, and walked over to him and gave him a hug. All I could do was stand in the doorway. All of this was unreal to me. The door behind me opened and Jasmine and I saw a doctor enter the room. He looked at us, taken back at our appearance.

"Oh, hello there, I didn't know there were visitors!" He greeted, walking over to Travis while taking notes on a clipboard. He wasn't affected at all by the site, like it was just another day for him

"Will he be alright?" Jasmine asked, still shaken up about Travis' state. The doctor gave her a grim look.

" Well, he has lost a lot of blood and is suffering from a few broken ribs and a broken nose but he should be alright, just give him a week to start acting normally. He should wake up within a few days and he'll probably be stuck in this hospital bed for 2 to 3 weeks though to fully recover." He told Jasmine which brought another river of tears to escape her eyes. I did the only thing I could do and walked over to her and gave her a supporting hug.

We sat in there for an hour before Jasmine was comfortable leaving him. Surprisingly a lot of people had should up with gifts or just to visit. As we walked out of the building, Jasmine started to mumble something.

"Why him?" We both got into the car and drove off in silence.

"There was a lot of people there to visit him." I stated, breaking the silence halfway through the ride.

"Yeah, those were some old school mates. Travis used to be a pretty popular kid at our school, everyone knew him for his outgoing personality and kindness. He was on the track team and won first place for our school multiple times." Jasmine told me with a small smile creeping on her face.

"I bet you couldn't guess by the way he acts now but he was an extroverted kid, though it all stopped after he started working at the asylum." She paused for a moment, "sometimes I question what happened to the old Travis and what that asylum did to him." She had a solemn look now. I grimaced realizing I brought up a touchy subject. I didn't speak until she dropped me off at my house.

"Hey Jasmine, would you like to stay over? We could watch a movie and stuff." I offered, wanting to help her get her mind off of Travis. She thought for a few minutes before agreeing and we both walked into my house. It wasn't much, just a comedy movie with popcorn and candy but it was enough to get Jasmine's mind off Travis for awhile. The movie had finished and she thanked me for making her day a bit better before leaving.
