I started working at a retail store. I was surprised, that New Look would accept me , but all the same I was glad, I have a totally flexible timetable at school, only twice a week, and thrice in a fortnight. It was able to take my mind off things.

But boy, was it stressful, because in my first day at work I was just picking up clothes on the floor and folding if need be. The manager, Collette, blond haired, and tall, was nice, but had her tough days. Those days everyone knew better than to get in her nerves. We worked like our lives depended on it.

I had nice colleagues, Tracey, the most happy woman I've ever seen, and Edward, a bit shy but not shy enough to ask me out on a few days. I don't know why I had never accepted it. I mean, he's a nice guy but I never saw him beyond my colleague. He always calls me pretty eyes, and was shocked the first time I told him that my eyes weren't really hazel. There was Mirabel as well, that was totally moody and was jealous that Edward was after me. But I didn't really care because she can have him for all I care.

Sara also works now, as a beauty advisor, so now the time we do spend together are limited . Although now, we have decided to live together. So the beginning of the new semester I moved into her two bedroom apartment, I didn't feel the need to go back to my studio since I'm at her house most of the time. It was a bit easier for my dad, he admitted.

I'm not still so close to my parents, but it doesn't matter anymore, my life at this point is alright.
I've found a way to balance my life with school work, when I don't have much to do, I catch up with work, going over lecture slides, doing more on my course works, mostly revision. If Sara was around, we'd do some work, although we don't do exactly the same course, we try to get our work done.

I had found peace, and that's all that mattered

When it came to the subject of boyfriends I never thought I'd have one again. I wasn't even thinking about it.

I was wrong

When it came, I threw myself at the opportunity to use a tool that would help me to forget.

He was among the pack of friends that Sara had, probably her boyfriends friend. It was one day, when Sara had coerced me with being with  her gang, saying that they never got to see the
"Dass she was always referring to" .

I remembered how she convinced me the Friday after the last lecture.

"Come on, it'll be fun" She persisted, until I gave in.

We hung out for pre - drinks. I wasn't much of a drinker so I sat in her room for a while until she came and dragged me out.

"I'm not having any anti social attitudes today miss, you go out there and socialise"

Judith was also there, with her man. I found seat and took it, looking round uncomfortably. Until Judith came and engaged in some small talk.

I hadn't noticed him then.

When the taxi arrived to take us to the place, Sara walked up to me, smiling stupidly.

"You look so pretty" I said.

"That guy has been checking you out" She winked.

"What guy?" I say confusingly.

"The one sitting next to Mike. I think his name is Curt or something"
