Avelyn called another servant over and instructed him to lead Jaxon and Castiel to their room.
"Excuse me, Jaxon, Castiel. Paul will take you to your rooms."
She quickly gave Jaxon a kiss and followed after Demina. Jaxon laughed.
"I think you insulted Demi, my friend."
Castiel glared at him.
"So...what did you think of her?" Jaxon asked, still smiling.
"I don't want to talk about it."
Castiel brushed past him, following Paul. Jaxon chuckled.
"Aww...don't be sore, Cas."
"I'm not sore, Jax."
"Of course you're not sore, Cas. She's just the first girl who's resisted your charms since we were in grade school."
Castiel scowled and shoved the door to his room open. He stormed in, turned around and slammed the door in Jaxon's face. Jaxon laughed. He couldn't wait for dinner.
"Demi! Demi! Demina, stop! Demina, I order you to stop!"
Demina stopped but didn't turn around as Avelyn ran to catch up with her.
"Demina talk to me? What's wrong? Did Castiel hurt your feelings? I'll make him apologize. Demi, come on!"
Demi sighed and finally turned around. Impreza was different than other kingdoms. Although, Avelyn was a princess, she treated everyone as if they were royalty. Especially Demina. Castiel coming was a reminder that it wasn't so. That there was a huge gap between royalty and servant.
"Ava...my lady. I have a lot of work to do to get ready for dinner tonight. If you'll excuse me..."
Avelyn sighed but let her go. Demi never talked about things that bothered her.
Ah, Chase. Demi missed him so much. She felt a little smile stretch across her lips. This prince...Castiel seemed like he could be a lot like Chase. Her smile faded as she thought about the prince. She had se unprepared for the long-buried feelings to resurface. She should have talked to Avelyn about this but she couldn't. Avelyn was so much more experienced with love, having Jaxon and all. Demina shook her head. There was no way she wanted to bother Ava with her problems. It was almost dinner time anyways. Demi pulled her work clothes off and pulled on a nicer dress. She made her way to the dining room. Avelyn, Jaxon, and Castiel all sat around the table, talking and laughing. The chatter seemed to still as she walked in. Castiel quickly stood up and walked over to her, bowing.
"Lady Demina. I think we got off on the wrong foot. I fear I may have insulted you and for that I apologize. If there is any chance for us to be friends, I would like that very much.
Demina studied him. His apology seemed sincere. He had done nothing wrong, truly. She finally curtsied, taking his arm, and allowing him to lead her to the table. Maybe it could work out.
