Chapter 15
Avelyn walked into the room, her eyes falling on Castiel.
“Cas! How are you feeling?”
Cas breathed a laugh and grimaced.
“Like I got run over by a herd of horses and shredded by a panther’s claws.”
Avelyn made a noise of sympathy and sat down on the bed.
“Cas...” Avelyn hesitated, “What...what happened?”
Cas rubbed his face, his hand shaking.
“The d-detail are a bit h-hazy.”
“That’s okay. Tell us everything you can remember.”
Cas closed his eyes, trying to remember.
“My name is Raiden.”
Jax’s eyes widened but before he could pull out his sword, Raiden leapt on top of him. He quickly drew Jax’s swords, swinging Jax up and pressing the sword against his neck.
“Let him go!” Cas commanded. Raiden smirked.
“Drop your sword.”
Cas hesitated.
“DO IT!”
Jax swallowed, a trickle of blood running down his throat as Raiden pressed it tighter.
“Okay, okay.”
Cas slowly put down his sword, raising his hands.
Castiel winced, his head pounding.
“Raiden said something and Jax looked so...panicked and confused. I can’t remember what he said. All I remember after that is waking up bloody, in pain, and knowing that I had to get to you guys. Why can’t I remember?! It was important!”
He clenched his fist and Demi lay a gently hand on it.
“Its okay, Castiel.”
“Do you remember if you saw...Jaxon’s body?” Avelyn asked. Cas took a deep breath.
“No. I didn’t see a body.”
Avelyn smiled.
“Then that means there’s a chance that he’s still alive.”
“Ava...that doesn’t mean Drax didn’t kill him. I know a lot more happened. I don’t remember how I was wounded but a fight did happen. Or he could have killed him somewhere else.”
Avelyn shook her head.
“No. NO! I know Jax is alive. I would’ve...I would’ve felt it if he was dead.”
With that, she turned and fled the room. Castiel sighed and hung his head. Demi was silent then finally she stood up.
“Get some rest, Castiel.”
