Avelyn was going to kill her. She was late…so late…Crap, crap, crap. Demina ran through the halls, just barely dodging a servant with a tray of food. She slid across the floor and almost fell on her face. She skidded to a stop and blew out a breath. Quickly looking around, she slid down the banister, flipping and gripping the chandelier. She swung down and….crashed into Prince Castiel who had just come out of the library.

“OH! Your Highness…I’m so sorry! Are you okay? Oh gosh!”

Cas sat up when she got off of him and looked up at her. Demi quickly helped him up, feeling her cheeks heating up.

“Demi...What were you doing?”

“Uh, trying to…I’m late…Oh no!”

Without saying another word to him, she bolted out of the room. Cas picked up his book, staring after her, amusement and confusion written on his face.

Castiel chuckled softly to himself. Demi was a character. He missed her so much. Maybe he was crazy for it but he ached to see her again, longed to know that she was safe, preferably in his arms. His Demina was pure evil with a smile that lit up like sunshine. Castiel shook his head. When had he started thinking of her as his? Ugh. She was not his. He was going to remain a bachelor for the rest of his life.

“What are you smiling about?” Cassiopeia asked, riding alongside him. Cas looked her and shook his head.

“Nothing important,” he answered, “We should make it to the outskirts by dark. Lord Ean will let us stay in his palace for the night. We can get supplies and rest before we head up the mountain.”

“Alright,” Cassiopeia agreed, “Let’s play a game. I love games and it will make the time go by faster.”

“Alright.”

“Okay. This game is called twenty questions. I get to ask you twenty questions and then...”

“I get to ask you twenty questions?” Castiel asked, smirking.

“Yes.”

“Alright, shoot.”

“Who were you thinking about?” Cassi asked, innocently.

The smirk fell from Castiel’s lips and he scowled.

“None of your business.”

“Ugh, fine. I’ll ask another one. Do you have anyone special?”

A pair of mischievous, golden brown eyes and a soft smirk filled his mind and he smiled. NO!

“No, I don’t.”

The game went on with Castiel answering Cassiopeia’s questions with one word answers before she finally got frustrated and stopped talking. Cas breathed out a breath of relief.
