A/N: Image of Skylar not because y'all are going to forget his face, but because he's just plain cute and generates an ungodly amount of heat.
[Skylar]
*~*~*
Smile not because it makes you happy.
Smile because it makes you human.
Smile through joy, delight and excitement;
But also smile through pain, anguish and distraught,
Because smiling might just make that irking panic, -
A fleeting moment of disorder in an ocean of listless enjoyment.
*~*~*
"Good afternoon, good morning? Good noon... It's 12:00 sharp... Oh never mind... Good afternoon!" I feel slightly silly after correcting myself so many times, what do people say when it's 12:00pm on the dot? Probably good afternoon but it's not after... Oh well, that's food for thought, I'll probably ask Ryland - he's like a human google.
My duties of looking after these children have been lifted for my lunch period, now I am walking into the library where currently very few people are at. Guess kids aren't really fond of books, I like books, but only ones with pictures and stuff. I can't read very well and I think I've done my share of reading in high school and university. University was the worse of the two, I had so many things that needed to be highlighted, luckily I pulled through.
"Hey Sky." Taylor greets, same smile on his face, it's still a little down but I can see that it is getting better. And I will be the one to make sure it stays up once it gets there. "How are your kids doing?"
"They are fine, I got one absent, hope he's not too sick... I heard he had pneumonia..." I'm not sure if it's contagious or not, but if it is I might have passed it down to him... Which now that I think about it isn't the best approach when I am sick as a duck, I could've easily passed that virus or bacteria around the classroom.
"I'm sure they are fine. Pneumonia sucks though, Lance had it once when I was a kid and it was the worst I've seen him." I can't begin to imagine capable and courteous Lance being sick like that. Sends shivers down my spine. Taylor throws an arm around my shoulder and leads me to the staff area through a door behind the desk. There's a couple monitors so we can still keep an eye on the children, not that there are very many. "Turn that frown upside down man."
I shrug, "I've had it not too long ago, I may have passed it to the student..." I sigh, feeling defeated. I'm such a stupid person sometimes.
"Hey hey, if you stop smiling I think the entirety of the British Columbia will start spiralling into depression." He chucks my chin and smiles so wide you can see his teeth in plain view. I turn my lips up again, showing my teeth just as much. Taylor is young but he is very charismatic, and I appreciate that about him, plus, he's tall enough to be considered older than me. Of course, there are obvious habits that gives the impression that he is indeed still a very young adult.
"How is your uncle doing?" I ask, opening my lunch box while Taylor flips the cover off the sandwich box. He is the one to set up this rendezvous here today, said we should catch up more over lunch since he spent so much time the other night with dad. Apparently they are gaming buddies now, which is very odd to think about.
"He's been alright, very busy as usual, he is graduating soon though." Taylor looks down, slightly upset, "I am trying my best to help him, but so far, I've been doing nothing impactful enough to call it useful..." The devastated look on his face really doesn't suit his personality, I suppose it's the same when people say similar things to me.
