Reminder of who Lance Gunnolf is, new characters confuse me, hope you can appreciate that jawline and those cheek bones because they are giving me a concussion.
[Lance]
*~*~*
I am a shadow.
I create a false perfection, the kind that
I despise.
I try to sweep away the judgement, for
I have a person that's worth my time.
I long to live under secure skies,
I reach above to touch my dreams, as -
I too, have my fears to scream.
*~*~*
"Fucking hell!" Taylor yells, letting out a frustrated groan as he falls over into the small couch. It's not very comfortable but it's all I can afford right now. With my nephew only being 7 years apart from me, all I can do is try my best to provide for him, family is priority, plus, it's quite refreshing to have a new person to live with not that he's the most entertaining thing I've come across.
My brother, who is a good 10 years older, is one of those independent men, he didn't want to get married or 'get tied down' so he decided to adopt a child when he was 25, and I have to admit, my brother was already loaded at the time and he has all the right materialistic assets to provide for his son.
Little Taylor was 7 years old when he got approved to stay with my brother as a foster child, they then let Taylor stay with my brother as a permanent home after a year. At the time, I was only 14 and my brother was already 24. I played with Taylor everyday, we were basically best friends. Fast forward 11 years, now it's up to me to take care of him, and quite honestly, I will never be able to see him as a child because he is mature in his own way.
Taylor is currently playing a console game, one that he managed to smuggle out of his old room, along with his amazing computer and a lot of money. He claimed that he had snuck back into the house after he's been booted out for being gay. Taylor, is an amazing young man, he isn't the smartest when it comes to school, but he has the heart of a saint and he's only ever been a good child ever since we were young. The only problem here is my brother and I refuse to bring him up if it's not required.
"Yo, Lance." Taylor walks over in his tank top and underwear, handing me a cheque. I stare at it flabbergasted, "We've been living together for a couple months, and I haven't done much for you." He places the cheque in my hand, "That's all I've made after graduation." He scratches the back of his head, smiling at me.
I feel like a proud father, even though I don't have the right. "Taylor... you don't have to. Keep it for yourself, I have enough money for everything." He shakes his head, and to be honest, I'm not sure with my salary as a model that I will be able to keep up with the rent, tutorial fees and basic living for both him and I.
But even if it kills me, I will make sure Taylor is fed and healthy.
"Nah, now that I am on paid internship I have enough money. You have to pay for university and all that junk." He wraps his arm around my shoulder, "Don't want my favourite uncle to pass out from fatigue." He shrugs, folding the rectangular piece of paper and tucking it in my pant pocket. "All done. Use it to pay the rent this month, should help quite a bit."
