[Character 4]

It's probably a habitual thing, but I tend to think about things too deeply and try to plan out everything that happens next. It gives me a sense of structure and safety knowing what will be next, part of the reason why I am an engineer in the first place, structure is key to me.

The rest of dinner, Sebastien continues to chat with Taylor, and as the dessert is being heated up in the oven, Skylar and I step out into the backyard. It's a got a small patio with a table and a couple chairs. There's no snow probably because of the roofing. I don't know what compelled me to step out here with Skylar but I have on objections.

"Thank you for coming, my dad hasn't had new company for a while." He takes a sip of his hot chocolate, sleeves of his jacket pulled over his palm as he breathes in the residual heat that radiates off the warm liquid.

"Thanks for having us. Taylor hasn't been this happy in a while." I smile, knowing that it is only the truth I am telling. "You helped him a lot, truly, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"Don't worry about that!" He giggles, pulling his feet up to his chair and resting his mug and chin in his knees. There is a silent shift in stance as Skylar breathes out gently, "I think everyone deserves love." He glances up at me with that captivating eyes, "Don't you think so?"

It's chilling, that change in tone and language, it calls for a lot of experience to be able to mask his intellect like that. I was fooled that Skylar is just a happy person in general, but clearly there's more to it. "What if someone doesn't have enough time for it? You know... for love and all that."

Skylar smiles, places his mug down on the table, one of the lights flicker and I catch a glimpse of that heart strumming violet. "I think when you do find that one person... Time won't matter to you anymore." He looks at his hot chocolate. "For me, if I do happen to find that person, I know I would never have enough time with them."

I sit there stunned, not knowing what to say. I can't calculate my way out of this, it's like the one thing that inhibits my head from predicting what may happen; singing. From the back of my head, I have a nagging feeling that what he has said means layers and layers deeper than surface value.

He just shared all his insecurities in one sentence.

"Then I guess I just haven't found the one yet... because I never seem to have time for it."

He smiles, the kind that sends shocks down to my fingertips.

"Hmm... Then I hope that one day you will! Everyone deserves love..." He pauses, blinking those amazing eyes before staring straight into my soul. "Everyone, Lance."

For me, I think love has never found it's way around to my side.

To the ones I claim to love, they fulfil the side that anyone could.

To the one I have yet to claim my love to,

That person will fulfil the part of my heart where no one else can.

"And from your words, I wish you the same."

Fuelling my desire to do better like a warm sea does to a hurricane,

It builds,

It pushes its limits,

Then, the rain falls.

Just like a love,

You build,

You get tested,

Then, you fall.

No matter how long the Overcast stays above us,

One day,

It will fall;

You will fall,

In Love.
