I was dancing crazily with Orieus, we had been jumping up and down, fist pumping for ages now. And the most hilarious thing was we couldn't even dance! I used to swing dance back at professor Kirke's manor, but it was never as insane as what mad dance moves I was doing now. You would expect more sophisticated, classical music to just sway to, but no.... Everyone was on their feet dancing.... I mean cavorting with wild spirits. Living in the country I had never really experienced a 'party', or festival before. except for that one time a few years ago when Proffessor Kirke and I visited London to attend a gathering hosted by one of his old friend's Polly Plummer. Who I thought was a very lovely lady, she told me about her travels around Europe but she said she had one fascinating adventure with Kirke when she was a young girl. She didn't go into much detail only saying that she and Kirke would play with two rings that would take them between worlds. I was very confused as to how you could slip in-between two worlds, but she told me it was only their imagination, just to keep the two children entertained. How do I remember this conversation? I do not know... Maybe because her engaging story enchanted my ears with wonder.I was in the middle of doing a dance that looked like a jellyfish, Orieus and I stood side- by- side reenacting a dance that looked like a jellyfish, when I was interrupted by a light tap, on the back of my shoulder. I turned around in hope of the name that instantly surged through my mind...... It was Ed-
" Mr Tumnus?" I greeted him, dumbfounded.
Mr Tumnus raised an eyebrow in suspicion, but then his expression softened."Your father would like to speak with you, your highness," He bowed his head in respect.
"Really? Again with the 'Royal proposal'" I laughed. "Please, just call me Amelia," I smiled at him. He smirked as I began to walk away , In search of 'The Cat' I call father. Luckily it didn't take long to find him on the edge of the humungous balcony in front of the entrance to the Great Hall. The sun nearly set over the horizon, the sun had never been so bright before. Different from the sun that shone in England. Narnia's sun was brighter (if that was even possible) and dazzled like diamonds. I sauntered to my fathers side, his presence made me shiver, not like when you walk into a world of ice, but that warm, melting like feeling when you sit in front of the fire place after you just played in the snow. Or when you walk into a room of happiness and your heart suddenly lifts up into the heavens. it was a nice feeling inside, not happiness or joy... of course those feelings but their was more than that, it was strong and unbreakable.... It was love
"Amelia you promise me you'll understand," father spoke solemnly, as I nuzzled my head into his fluffy mane.
"I can't promise you that," I chuckled.
"Well you have no choice but to," He started, "I have to leave Cair Paravel and Narnia. I have other duties in different worlds in far more need than here, " father finished, sorrow written in his voice.
"But you just got back; Narnia won't be the same without you. I won't be the same without you," I tried to speak calmly.
"Narnia will be safe as long as it is in your hands," he replied.
"But when will you return?" I questioned.
Father let out a sigh, you could tell that her was finding it difficult to speak the right words. But everything he was telling me wasn't making anything better. "In time. But remember what I told you. I am always here for you. I might not be there right in front of you, but I am in your heart."
"But I don't want to say goodbye again," I chocked back the tears.
"Be strong," he said wisely.
"Stay with me," I whispered airy,
"Always," his voice echoed through my ears, into my mind then straight to my heart. And with that I could no longer feel the warm presence of my father. He was gone....
