8 | The best thing that ever happened to me

Setting: outside of Revi's house.

Jaden

I left you because you never asked me to stay.

I was in front of her house, alright.
She hadn't sent one message after we had met that night. I knew she trusted me but she hesitated to tell me and I don't blame her for that. Anyone would, even I would do the same in her place but I could no longer stay away from her, I needed her next to me.
She was the one I could run away with, fight the whole world for.

I had seen the love between my parents but I never knew it felt so good.
I could live in the darkness for years to have one day of daylight with her. Her aura told me everything about her. The sweetness on her face, hope in her eyes, confidence in her posture and the diligence in her attitude.

Those Daks have no idea what I will do next. It will make them think twice before coming and catching me again.

She was the reason why.

I planned on talking with her and making her trust me, not to leave her until she understands.

I started off having this in mind that I won't be leaving this place without her.

I reached her house no., Which I I got to know from the list of owners names downstairs.
I knocked on her door.
I did not want my first impression to go futile so I had put on the cleanest pair of clothes I had, the ones my grandfather had given me. I had combed my hair in the way I wanted to and put the most good-looking shoes the men had ever given me. I had sprinkled some powder on the face too but not as much that I would look like a ghost.

She opened the door. She looked drowsy like she was in deep sleep. I had unwillingly just woken her up. She wrinkled her eyes, not able to keep them open and said, "sorry Roger, your dog didn't come here, you can go and check with aunt Petunia next door."
With that, she almost closed the door but I stopped it with my hand," I am not Roger. I am Jaden. Sorry for waking you up so early."

She got startled. "Jaden........in the sense Jaden Terri. I have done nothing wrong to you. Why the hell are you after me? All I wanted was a simple life and then people like you ruin even the existence of it in my dreams. If you want money, take whatever you find and go!"

I was hurt that she thought of me as a robber.
I wondered who were the other people who bothered her but then I just kept my focus on gaining her trust.
I didn't want to pester her by asking who so I just replied to her interrogating question.

"No my Andromeda. I am here to get my answer. I really need you to trust me. I know we both don't know each other but if you get to know me in the next few days, you will know how innocent I am. Just one chance, I won't let you down Revina. Please."
She stared down at the doormat which read," welcome". She didn't seem quite convinced, but she let out a small sigh and indicated me to come in.

The room was small, quite a place for only one person to live and I guessed she lived alone which gave me fewer worries to get exposed.

(silence)

Clash!!!
I got scared, not due to the noise but due to the realization that there was someone else besides Revi here.

Revina got a glass of milk and sat down and told me to do so too.
I made my movements with great care so that the other person wouldn't notice I was here.

Revina ate a chocolate chip cookie and gulped down her milk.
I whispered without wasting a moment before that person came out.

"There's not much time. You have to go with your gut feeling. Believe me, this will be your best chance of hiding from your father and getting that evidence against him to a good officer."

"Hey.....How do you know my father? Who told you that I have evidence against him?"

"Ugh... The other day, the men who captured my mum and dad were conversing that they somehow got hold of your sister I guess or something like that and that you have some evidence against him...... I am not trying to use you here. Dont get me wrong. You must know that I... Ugh, want to help you hide from him. You have to make up your mind fast."

She took it into consideration but shook her head indicating that she wasn't ready." Please, you have to understand that my parents are also in danger. You're deciding there life too, please."

Now she seemed convinced.
She nodded and said, " Wait for me. I will arrange a bag for the stuff I need and I will come back in a jiffy. And... my name's Revina."
I looked at Revina....... What a beautiful namew. No matter what, she would always be my Andromeda. These were signs that told me she believed me. I couldn't wait any longer. It was best for me to tell her, that I loved her. She didn't know that my heart goes crazy on seeing her. She was the best thing that ever happened to me.

If she becomes mine, I will keep her safe from the whole world!
